Well, yes, but I really hate to call it that. But for the lack of a better word, yes. It's just that "magic" implies that something is happening with no cause, or breaks the rules of reality. Neither is true. "Magic" is a careful practice. It is often called magic because it works with things that can't be seen but must be manipulated, and involves perceiving what most people shut out.

And for that matter, there are many kinds... reality is a far bigger place than any one of us understands. And in it, nearly everything exists somewhere.

Do you know who Criss Angel is? You should research him on the internet. Lots of people have many different opinions about magic and if it's all an illusion, or if it really does exist. I believe that magic really exists for many reasons. Part of it is because of the thrill that you get when seeing magic be performed. It just makes you believe that anything is possible. Though I would like to find out the REAL answer myself...

Magick is the inexplicable. Some magick becomes science. Some Magick is called Miracles. Some Magick will never be understood.

Example: (On a grand scale) There is no answer as to why galaxy whirl like carousels. Some say it takes place because of gravity, but no one has ever explained gravity. They only say it is a natural force or a natural attraction.
Example of Magick becoming science: Healers and midwives of many years ago would dip cloth into a cauldron of boiling water with various herbs before wiping a cut or wound to cleanse it. Physicians and clergy called this witchcraft. Now, it's called sanitary, not Magick.

P.S. http://usminc.org/famous.html is a Christian effort to basterdize and distort all things Pagan.

Most of the replies here seem to deal with magic in relation to some sort of religion whether it is Christianity, Wicca, or otherwise. Not to offend anyone here but these seem to be focused mainly on impressing people with their "magic" or "power" in order to influence them over to that religion's belief structure. Modern magic is mainly made on the silver screen using special effects and so forth. Magic of the past is mostly heresay and has no evidence to back up "curses" or "resurections" which have been passed down as legends from generation to generation. Don't get me wrong now, I am a christian but not in the sense where I wait for miracles and unexplained events to change my life and give me some huge epiphany but more in the sense of appreciating a moral guideline that the religion offers. I am good friends with many Wiccans and there is nothing wrong with it until they focus their beliefs primarily on the powers they wield and the spirits that affect them instead their religious philosophy of the Wiccan Rede principle "An' it harm none, do what ye will". Of course this is merely what I believe which is the true answer to your question in the first place. Magic exists for those who want to believe in it.

I presume you mean magic as in supernatural, and not prestidigitation. I have an open mind, and have seen things that defy logic. I don't mean on the stage, but in every day life. So, the answer is a definite maybe .

Will power.

All the "magic" seeming stuff is really just a front to draw your will to influence something. Haven't you ever had an experience that you imagined just how you wanted something to happen and it happened? There ya go.

It most defiantly DOES. But it's up to once self dedication, imagination, and being able "to play" just as one did as a child. I believe, but I don't call it magic. What do you think your ancient ancestors believed in before there was "God"? Simply what is now called or was called the "Old Ways" which to some, is now no more than fantasy, myth, and fairy tale.

yes it does whether you can see it or not. you can believe that magic exists no matter what people tell you. i mean its true we dont have wands and all that like in harry potter but magic can be found in so many little simple things (and no i am not gonna start mentioning them) but anyway to me it feels good when i think of magic cos its like everything seems possible and i feel happy and i get a sudden boost of energy and confidence( dunno how to explain it really). i like to think that magic exists and nothing anyone says can change that and anyone can think im crazy, i dont care. xx
