Can someone explain to me why catholic churches have statues of Mary outside their churches, schools ect.?? when there is this in the bible...

"You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself a graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Or am I taking this out of context? Please explain.

I have a close friend that is having some marriage difficulties. She has been thinking of taking her youngest son to stay with family in another state. She wants to do this so that her hubby has time to decide what he wants, his family or be single. If she leaves without him knowing, without permission to take their son, could she face legal problems by doing so? They are married at this point and the child is theirs together. Could he have her arrested for taking him out of state without knowledge and permission of both parents?

I have never seen a ghost and would really like to see one. My dad and mom both have told me that they had saw something not normal when they were young. But I just have never seen anything at all and probably don't believe it either(probably because I have never seen one).

Please help anyone! I have posted questions on this before.

My solicitors are telling me all that can be done is get a certificate of satisfaction for a mistake that they made, that resulted in a judgement against me (they basically didn’t pay on time, after a car accident). I want to see if there is SOMETHING/ANYTHING that can be done, to make them go through the painful process of reversing this judgement.

They are telling me nothing can be done. My credit rating file now has this, and I’m willing to go to any length to get it removed.

Any legal brains – help!!!!!

If not, what kind of nail salon treatment works on natural nails without damaging them? I have healthy nails, but I never wear nail polish since the natural oils in my nail beds don’t allow the nail polish to adhere too well. I've heard that silk wraps aren't good either. Can anyone help?

I am currently divorcing my husband who still is in the home, he finally after 5 months received his papers and he refuses to leave, calling the cops wont work, he is verbally abusive to my two daughters and is making home life MISERABLE> I filed in Feb and now that he has recieved the papers, his number 1 mission is to make my life a living hell. My apartment smells like raunchy cigarette smoke and I can't get rid of the smell. My clothes stink, all my possessions stink, and it is nasty. Candles, incense, febreeze air freshener hasn't helped. Anyone out there with any ideas? Also people, I smoke occasionally but I smoke outside and for this very reason. Don't smoke indoors. Its gross and nasty smelling for the next person who comes to live there.

Well, as we all know, we lost Briere and Drury, our two best players, and Briere wasn't even contacted until there were two days before the UFA market opened (but don't worry, Darcy got a patent for his new hockey net -rolls eyes-).
