This is just from curiosity. I notice a lot of people give their children middle names that are also first names...or can be used as a first name. For example Emily Anne or something. I was just wondering-is this more common than giving someone a surname as a middle name like say _____ Johnson Prescott? Or rather, which one do you have in your name and which way do you prefer (if any)?

I just recently got married and a girlfriend that stood up proved to be a disappointing attendant. From not caring about things before the wedding or even on the day, to not getting a gift I was majorly disappointed. I confronted her with everything and her excuse was that she was "offended" and found it "tacky" that I asked her not to bring a guest. The story is she planned on bringing one of her girlfriends who she runs off with and carouses with, and I know she would have been even worse of a bridesmaid, disappearing and making it truly about her. I have consulted various etiquette websites about this and they all say I am not obliged to invite one of her friends as a guest. I also thought it would be bad to have this girl sit with a bunch of people she didn't know for the dinner. I did forward a verbal invite through my bridesmaid to have her come to the after dinner which her friend did come to. What are your thoughts on this? If you need more details let me know.

someone knows who you are but you have no idea who they are?

That just happened to me. Weirdest thing ever. I was at Carl's Jr and when I was in the drive thru, this really hot guy was on his cell waving towards me. I though maybe he was waving at someone else so I thought nothing of it. Well I pulled out of the drive thru and stopped to put my money away. He walks up to me and he said "I was waving at you! whats up?" I said, "Ok?" so he kept on rambling on and I said "I don't reconize you, who are you?" Then he got all mad. He's all "What?! Screw you then!" and stormed off. But I have no idea who that guy was...
