i am trying to make a home stereo out of a car cd player and was just wondering if any one new what an accesory wire is and were it would go to if it was ona car also the illumination wire what would that wire up to if it was on a car

The accessory wire would go to a key-switched power source. If you plan to use the button on the front of the radio for power, then wire the accessory together with the constant power wire; if you're using an external switch, wire the accessory power through that.

The illumination wire would connect to the vehicle's parking light wire. It has the function of dimming the radio display when the vehicle lights are turned on.

You say you ar trying to make a home stereo out of a car cd player, I assume you are connecting to a 12 v power supply with suitable current ie amps? a cd player will run at up to 15 amps if it is turned up loud and many 12 power supplies run at a lower ampage than that check this first.
the accessory wire (I'm guessing this is the yellow one) would be wired to the ignition live circuit but could be wired in combination with the red live. The illumination would be wired to the headlamp circuit and when 'live' would dim the stereo lights for night driving.

dude, just hook up some power to it if u must, that's red and blue, then your two speakers, there two colours each and two for each speaker, if your not shore then don't do it, it will cacth light if done wrong, leave all the others alone, cut them off blunt
