I have a step daughter, 5 yrs old. Her mother has SOLE custody over her. The mother does not want the child to live with her. She just got her back from the childs grandma who was caring for the child for over a year and a half. Now that I am with the father, we have a new baby and we want the daugther to come live with us. The mother went and took the child so that we could not keep her. But, now she can't handle her and is going to send her back to the grandma's because she is pregnant and will have a baby soon. We have been asking for the daughter to come live with us. It would be the best for her. She starts school. She has her own room. She would be enrolled in dance or piano depending on which she chooses. She would be more disiplined because right now she is not! Her mother works at a tattoo shop and thats what the child is growing up around. We want to just get her and keep her! Is that legal?? Would we get in trouble?? How should we go about this??

I really need to understand what this hatred over George Bush is about? I don't care for the way he is handling things (and most Americans don't as well) but why the hatred?

please spare me with "You would never understand" or "Read more" or "grow some brains"

I want REAL answers. thanks.

I've just read that bank robberies have sky-rocketed. I used to work in a bank as a language consultant and was involved in two robberies, but those days the banks didn't have any bullet-proof glass! How do these guys do it? Last time I was in South Africa, I couldn't even get an interview for a home-loan because I didn't have any identification!

I want a dog that is not too big, but not too small either. It must not shed a lot, and must not be one of those shaggy-haired dogs. I also dont want it to be practically bald. No huge flapping ears. No huge globs of drool. Must be energetic, always keeping me busy. Must be cool with children, but I also want it to stay mostly attached to me. Oh, and must not cost me a fortune. Any suggestions? Please?! It doesn't have to be an exact match, but something close enough!

Almost everyone knows I'm a Shiat Muslim... so no one should assume that any of my answers regarding Islam is out of the Shiat teachings...

SO... how come sometimes when I quote someone important to Shiasm (like Imam Ali a.s. or Imam Sadiq a.s.)... without mentioning their name or their book... I get tons of thumbs up and their sayings are very valid...
BUT... when I mention their books (e.g. Imam Ali's a.s. or Imam Sadjad's a.s.)... suddenly their teachings become false and the thumbs down keep pouring in?

According to most of the Liberals' logic: If you support Democrat, you should be taxed at least 50% of what you earned. You fought in Bosnia or Somalia and ready to enlist UN peace Missions. Right?

But what kind of flowers (color and kind) so it would match the motif..

my bridesmaids are gonna wear red dress with gold accents like beads etc....and i would like their corsage to be of color somewhat golden (but no such thing except somewhat yellowish right?), i would like my boquet to be red flowers with gold accents..

i'm having a problem regarding the gold "flower" thing...red is so easy, i could have roses..

i want the isle to be white flowers (roses preferably) with gold and red accents too..maybe the laces could be gold and white right?
any ideas?

please post links so i could see the theme..thanks!

I want to get a dog, but don't have lot of room. The research I've done says these dogs do okay in apartments. I have a small courtyard I can put them in and I take regular walks at a nearby lake. I don't want a dog that sheds a lot, and one that would be friendly with people and other animals. Does anyone have one of these dogs? What do you like/dislike about them?

I have been unemployed for three years. I am running out of money and are just plain desparate. I have decided I am going to lie to get a job. I have set up an virtual receptionist to act as my telephone contact for a "fake employer" I have friends who will act as professional references and boss. I have worked with them for hours in role playing excercises and feel like it may work.
I have nothing to lose. If they find out it is all a fraud and do not hire me or fire me after finding out, I will be in the same position as I am today.
Have you ever lied to get a job? What do you think?

Hi,

I have a friend with a 3 year old. He is a nice kid and quite quick. However, he is quite rowdy and mischievious etc. He puts phones down the toilets and is always being naughty. I have spent time with him and although he is just a kid he really does seem to know right from wrong but chooses to do wrong.

My friend came home from work the other day and found that her son had put the two kittens in the microwave and switched in on... hence to say the poor kittens are no more....

What I am wondering is that when she told me I asked if her son was upset by what he had done or cried or anything. Turns out he sat on the stairs for 5 minutes in silence, did not cry but then carried on playing as if nothing had happened.

is this normal behaviour for a 3 year old. I know accidents happens but I'm not so sure this was an accident..!?

I trimmed my head down to a zero (practically bald), with some clippers....and I applied suncreen (I guess unevenly), and I had a good amount of exposure to the sun this weekend. Friday I kinda had red marks on my head, especially a lot on one side. Saturday I avoided the sun, and then Sunday I went in the sun for a while, with a shirt covering the burnt part...I guess it didn't help cause my head still managed to get red as hell (in blotches).

Yesterday I made the mistake of being in the sun for five minutes while smokin a cigarette (with sunscreen).
Well anyway, I got like this really weird red, blotch pattern on my head, especially a lot in this one patch. But the thing is, its not peeling. Does it stay red for a few days before it peels?

Is this a sunburn, or maybe some allergic reaction to something. What worries me is it hasn't peeled at all, and it doesn't burn/hurt at all. I'm gonna stay out of the sun, not put moisturizer, and not shave for a few days. Any insight?

Is this normal? She wears the same outfit 5 days a week to the office at 4 months at a stretch. She claims to wash, though the proof is in the odor that follows her around. I don't get it because she is always claiming to have money here and there, etc. Is this common outside the US?

Cindy Sheehan has said that she will run as an independent against Nancy Pelosi in 2008 if she doesn't introduce articles of impeachment against Bush. As many of you here know, I am certainly no Bush supporter. However, I think that it would be unrealistic to expect him to be impeached and convicted. After all, the majority of the House of Representatives would have to vote to impeach Bush. After that, at least 2/3 of the Senate would have to be present for Bush's trial. Of the Senators who are present, 2/3 would then have to vote to convict Bush. Considering the fact that the Democrats hold the majority in both houses of Congress by a very slim margin, how realistic do you think it would be to expect Bush to actually be convicted?
