Almost everyone knows I'm a Shiat Muslim... so no one should assume that any of my answers regarding Islam is out of the Shiat teachings...

SO... how come sometimes when I quote someone important to Shiasm (like Imam Ali a.s. or Imam Sadiq a.s.)... without mentioning their name or their book... I get tons of thumbs up and their sayings are very valid...
BUT... when I mention their books (e.g. Imam Ali's a.s. or Imam Sadjad's a.s.)... suddenly their teachings become false and the thumbs down keep pouring in?

Zhekina...

The books have only nice things...
What I do is that I search a key word that is related to the question... and copy the results that comes up...

And... just so you all know... I'm not giving any thumbs down to the answers in this question...

That is the thing... these books are almost only accepted by the Shiats... so it shouldn't be a shock when I name them...
And would be indication enough that I'm a Shiat without even saying the word Shiat...

SO how come their teachings are right without mentioning their names BUT their teachings become false when I mention their names?!

Honey... I think ignorance is a curse... those who truly want to learn something have to break free from it...

Zhekina...

What book are you talking about?

And no... we doN'T say Christians or Jews are infidels...

We DO accept Jesus (pbuh) as a Prophet of God... not His son... that is just about it...

My dear sister , Dont worry about it .
A wise man once said , "To recognize those on the right path , you need to know the right path but do not recognize the right path through those whom you think are already there ."
Now some people wrongly believe whatever their heroes do or say is absolutely right n others are misled ...

I'm sorry that this is happening to you. People don't like or don't tolerate things they don't know or understand and may be afraid. They think that anything other than what THEY believe is wrong, and so shun it.

Although I am not muslim, I have read the Koran, well.. some of it anyways lol... and I see a lot of it also in the Christian Bible.

People who don't read and learn about what they don't understand are ignorant of the facts... They may not want to learn and also may be afraid to learn that there is some truth in whatever it is they don't know... They are afraid that any differences they learn about may change their way of thinking... and they MAY NOT want that...

Now, Don't get me wrong... I'm NOT speaking for ALL people... Of course there are many who WANT to learn.. and who do learn and change their thinking...

Sorry you have to go through that sister. People are narrow minded and don't bother yourself with such things. I am Sunni but if Islam teaches us to be kind to non-Muslims and respect and tolerate them.. then people should understand that Muslims deserve more respect and tolerance. The rest, Allah knows best who is right and who is wrong.

Salaam.

Edit--
"Da Man" is right though, you should just say your Muslim, saying what sect anyone is from is asking for differentiation.

SALAAM SISTER
DO YOU REMEMBER THE OLD SAYING IGNORANCE IS BLISS IT IS THAT WAY IN ALL PARTS OF LIFE. YOU CAN GIVE ADVICE AND LIKE YOU SAID NOT NAME THE SOURCE AND PEOPLE THINK YOUR WONDERFUL FIX THEM A NEW DISH NOT TELL THEM ALL THE INGREDIENTS UNTIL AFTEWARDS AND ALL THE YUMS DURING THE MEAL ARE LOOKS OF SHOCK.
IT IS IRONIC I KNOW. EVEN MORE IRONIC IS THAT IT SEEMS THE OTHER RELIGIONS SEEM TO THINK THEY KNOW OUR MINDS. HMM DO NOT THINK SO I AM TAUGHT KINDNESS TO ALL FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS. IT IS NEVER MENTIONED I HAVE TO STAY KINDNESS ONLY TOO MY USLIM SISTERS AND BROTHERS. I HAVE VERY GOOD FRIENDS OF ALL FAITH AND I DO NOT ASK FOR A PERSONS RELIGOUS PREFERENCE BEFORE I HELP THEM WITH SOMETHING I HAVE KNOWELEDGE OF. IT IS AN INFORTUNATE THING BUT MANY HAVE TO PUT UP WITH IT AND I AM SORRY YOU ARE PUT THROUGH IT JUST HOLD TIGHT TO YOUR FAITH AND KNOW ALLAH IS THE ONES WHO JUDGEMENT MATTERS NOT ANYONE HERE ON EARTH.

forget about them sister, people are narrow minded and they fear the unknown! I don't know how can two different sections of the SAME RELIGION (like brothers) ever fight like people are doing in Iraq! Anyway I am sorry your treated differently! We always respect Shiat Muslim in our house!
I agree with nada, we are all Muslim and we all follow the same Quran and the same Haddith!

Because what the books say is true and good, but some people have been taught that they are false.

People should learn to take wisdom wherever they find it, not dismiss is due to preconcieved notions.

Mohammad is a Prophet to the Muslim peoples regardless of their Islam denominations. Also satan even in Quaran is the great deceiver of mankind and is the greatest enemy of men bringing men to thumbs down, hatred, anger, wars, terrorism, crimes, etc. Thus, satan is our enemy and not our fellowmen who are the pitiable and innocent victims of satan.

I don't know for sure. I'd say keep it up, because citing your sources can only be a good thing.
