I want to get a dog, but don't have lot of room. The research I've done says these dogs do okay in apartments. I have a small courtyard I can put them in and I take regular walks at a nearby lake. I don't want a dog that sheds a lot, and one that would be friendly with people and other animals. Does anyone have one of these dogs? What do you like/dislike about them?

Pomeranians shed alot, but they are very friendy towards people and pets. I don't know much about the other breeds. Yorkies do not shed, but the ones I have known have been leary of people. That may not be the way all yorkies are though. Another option is a miniature schnauzer. They do not shed and are good in apartments. Schnauzers love people and other animals. I have 4 of them! They love to go on walks and play but they will turn into a lap dog the second you decide to sit on the couch. Good Luck!

Get the Yorkie!! I have a little guy named Vicious, he is the most fantastic pup on the planet. He has the best disposition, loving personality (not needy). He is two and still has the cutest puppy face. My best friend has Vicious' brother and he is the same way.

Yorkies work with any lifestyle, if you are active they can be active, if you want to sit at home all day, they will be right there with you on the couch lounging. They are so easy to train and so smart. I have mine trained to go potty by himself. I live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex, I open the door tell him potty and watch him from the top of the stairs, he goes pinkle and then comes right back up.

Yorkies don't shed either! They have hair not fur, so besides brushing them and taking them in for a puppy cut they are easy to care for.

I do not
I had a Silky Terrier, It's look a lot like a Yorkshire, but it has an silky coat. A yorkshire Terrier is between 4 to 8 pound, and an Silky is between 8 ant 12 pounds
A silky is cheaper then a yorkie. I think they are pretty dogs.
They are a good dog

I would believe Pomeranian because they are smaller and they also aren't to active so in a small place they would sleep because if you get an active dog they would be bouncing of the The walls( I myself have a 7 month old Miniature Australian Shephard)

Of all of those breeds my favorite is the Bichon Frise. They are relatively calm and laid back, easy to train and all that I have known have been great with kids.
