Any thoughts, too, on life for a foreign (well, American) grad student at UVic? I tend to prefer densely built towns/cities that are traversible by walking and efficient public-transit systems, a nice cultural environment, etc.

A Norweigan & a Swedish parachuters have a training day in their camp & they prepare themselves & get ready & get on the aircraft. They fly up & when they reach the required altitude, they jump down. I've seen ads sponsored by the AMA asking people to fight against $10 billion in cuts to medicare payments to doctors. The AMA has long fought against "socialized medicine". Yet, US medicare is probably the biggest exercise in socialized medicine in the world.

Now the AMA favors socialized medicine??? Am I missing something?

i was at a fireworks show yesterday for 4th of July Eve. and it had several food stands my dad and i went to the mexican food stand and bought some food for ourselves and my brother. we ordered the food my dad left to go find my brother who was saving a spot for us, after our order was ready i went out to find my brother and dad eventually i did on the other side of the park; but we didnt have any forks. so i went off with my food in hand to go get some forks. i went to the nearest vendor to grab some forks and said playfully: " im going to steal some forks is that ok?" and i reach out but the man there stops me and says "i cant let you do that; you need to go to the place where you bought your food." (which was on the other side of the park.) so i just give him a wierd look and walk off and go get my forks at the mexican stand.

i found it completley ridicoulous that the man wouldnt let me grab some gosh darn forks. and i mean it wasnt like he had 5 or 6 left he had several dozen.

I just had a "angus beef" sandwhich and thought it was hamburger-is this really steak? It was gross, and I ended up throwing it away, and eating two in a half candy bars instead-not good when you are trying to maintain your figure during the summer season!

I am writing on movies, and how they changed over the years. I was wondering if someone could help explain the blockbusters of the 70's and 80's (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc...). What were som guidelines used to create a blockbuster back then, how did they create the stories, if I wanted to create a blockbuster that matched Star Wars or Indiana Jones, how would I create a story like that today?
