I don't want to offend these artist's fans or anything but i really want to know what's good about them? I tried to listen to their music but didn't understand what's so big about them.
I hope i don't sound as if i hate them as i don't.

Am I too old to go to some tryouts? I am almost 30 y/o. I pitched while I was in high school and at that time I was registering 85 to 87 mph on my fastball. I had a good curve and breaking ball. I wasn't able to go to college on a baseball scholarship, so instead I joined the marine corps and played baseball and softball while I was in the marines. I haven't clocked myself in quite some time, but the last time I was clocked I hadn't lost anything on my fastball and my other pitches were still there. Also are there open tryouts for people who haven't went to college and played or who haven't been drafted or played in any of the independent leagues?

I have just returned home from meeting with a Navy recruiter in my town, and he gave me a great deal of information on the Navy and all of its perks and whatnot, and how it could help me become a pharmacist later on. He was extremely persuasive and got me seriously thinking about joining, but I would like y'alls opinions on the Navy. Seeing as how he is in the Navy, his views are going to be biased in favor of it. I would just like y'all's views on the Navy--its pros *and* cons.

By the way, I'm 17 and will be a senior this year.

Thank you!

Hardcovers are usually more expensive and heavier, but are often published prior to Paperback releases.
Normally, I pick paperbacks as they're cheaper and easier to tote around. However I tend to prefer Hardcovers for...
1) Scientific or Historical volumes (I might read multiple times)
2) Favourite photography, art, or poem collections

There's something about the massive volume of hardcovers that I find rather soothing compared to flimsy paperbacks.
Which do you prefer? Why?

I know there has been a discussion on this. My issue is similer but different. LOL

My parents (Central Wisconsin) have been trying to get rid of These Big Black ants in their back yard. You know, those ants that are about the size of a dime. They have tried everything. Put boiling water on them, used pesticides. Nothing works perm. They come back every year. They are killing the grass in that area. The ground looks flat but when you step on it you sink slightly and ants start pouring out.

They seem to stay in one area of the yard. Whenever we try some pesticide they go away slightly but the next year they are back in massive swarms again.

The only annoyance of them is that they are killing the grass, making the ground nothing but dirt. They dont go in the house, that we know of, and we dont know if they byte. They just swarm and run fast when steped on.

Any Ideas?

christians most common answer is ''becuz i feel it in my heart'' or ''because the bible says..." which does not prove a point because their is no conclusive evidence that the bible is truthful. which makes that evidence inaccurate. basically christians are usually taught everything they ''know'' at birth and if their parents took them to a place where they worshipped santa claus they'd believe that too. therefore they do not think for themselves and refuse to accept anything else.

Atheist also, are more free lance about things and chooses to believe things that can be seen or proven as possible. and accepting that technology and medicine is what saves lives, not a supernatural pixie. (sorry) while christians still pray for god praising him when medicine works but yet it is not His fault when someone dies. theres a verse for everything in the bible to be explained according to them and its simply much easier to pull it out of a text. To prove anything form praising slavery ‘honor your master’ to rejecting it. However, atheist come off as a bit angry and bitter sometimes which concerns me also. This country is a majority Christian country and most crime is committed by Christians, more so as war, and things of that sort. You can praise god for all kinds of things until you run out of breathe, but things in this world are not done unless they are made or done men, medicine, and science. Those things are what keeps this world going, not a God.

This is simply opinion.

What happens after you die? I don't know. I can tell you what I think, but that's just an opinion.

Do god(s) exist? I don't know. I am an atheist, so I don't believe that gods exist. But I never claimed to be 100%, or right for that matter.

As humans, we don't know a lot of things, why can't we just "not know" the answers to these questions. Admit that your opinion is just that. If you want to explain why you believe, that's great. But how can anyone claim to have it right when there are so many opinions out there?

What's wrong with admitting that you really don't know.

I can understand if a really flamboyant guy is hitting on you or something, that could be a little awkward if you're straight. However, most people who were perfectly comfortable in their own sexuality would brush it off shortly afterwards. I get along fine with gay guys and girls alike and I'm straight as an arrow! I can look at a guy and think "he's handsome" without thinking sexually about it at all. I don't understand why most people aren't the same.

When listening to youtube it is evident that audio engineering is not most video poster's strong point. Levels of volume and dynamic range vary wildly from one video to the next.

I would like to be able to chain a software-based dynamic range compressor into my system audio so that I can normalize and maximize the volume and dynamic range levels of all audio on my windows computer.

I know that windows media 9 has "quiet mode" which will dynamically compress audio levels, but this is for the media player only. I need a dynamic range compressor for system-wide audio, not just audio from my media player.

I have searched for, but cannot find an application that can accomplish this. It seems like a relatively simple, even trivial application to implement - software-based, dynamic range compression is a very mature technology. I cannot see why it would not be implemented for all audio on a system, rather than in an application-specific manner.
