MRI which stands for Magnetic Resonance Imaging uses radio waves and magnetism. These bright spots and black holes are indicative of early signs of MS. The bottom line is brief: uncontrolled MS damages the central nervous system--the brain and spinal cord--and for many people the damage will, in time, be permanent. The fatty material that protects nerve fibers (myelin)is destroyed and replaced by scarring; and so, it turns out, is some gray matter (nerve cells as well as the nerve-cell fibers, or axons). Black holes and overall shrinkage of the brain, called atrophy, may occur. The sooner disease-modifying therapy is begun, the more effectively this damage can be delayed or prevented

First ask the Doc what he/she thinks. Many times there is a reasonable explanation for every odd looking area.Obviously you must have some symptoms that have gotten you to the testing phase and it is true that one such occurrence that is showing up on advanced MRI testing is MS damage to the central nervous system--the brain and spinal cord--and for many people the damage will, in time, be permanent. If this is the case the Doc will apply disease-modifying therapy which can delay & sometimes prevent.

you are your own worst enemy, stop stressing. Each MRI reads things and prints them out differently....those black spots could be as simple as just extra blood flow to an area that is being used heavily, like sight, speech and so forth. Wait until you see the doctor before you get all worked up over nothing.
