when fat people order a # 5 cheeseburger and large fries and an apple pie, but then ask for a diet coke with that......is it wrong to think thats ironic and laugh?

Your very good and too watchful....but it would be a #5 cheesebuger and a large fry and two apple pies (you get two for a dollar) even if you ask for one they still give you the other. But the diet coke is to make the calories intake a hint lower so you don't feel too bad....I miss the old days:( its either look better or Mc donalds so I choose look and feel better...:(

May not be a laughing matter, at all. Some people actually prefer the taste of Diet Coke over classic Coke....say the classic Coke tastes "soapy" after you become accustomed to the taste of Diet Coke. So they may be ordering from preference rather than a misguided attempt to cut calories. (But it IS funny :) )

it is ironic but most people who drink diet aren't getting it because they are actually on a diet, it all depends on what you get used to. I'm heavy but I drink diet because that's all my ex husband used to drink and I got used to it. Now if I drink a regular coke it's nasty and too sugary.

No, but ask and one may explain that their diabetes precludes them from imbibing regular, suger filled soft drinks - at least that's what my sister said when I pointed that out to her in Los Alamitos the other day.
