President Bush has already claimed, in a number of public speeches, that we have broken up terrorist plots to attack U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. By claiming this, Bush renders his own "follow us home" argument null and void. If attacks have already been planned and broken up, the terrorists are obviously already trying to attack us here while our troops are still in Iraq. How can Bush claim, with a straight face, that a consequence of leaving Iraq will be that terrorists will "follow us home" to attack us on our own soil when, with his own words and while our troops are still in Iraq, he has told us that they are already trying to attack us on our own soil?
