I am a very devout Christian, but as I have been looking through all these questions I have been disappointed in my faith. We are to live as an example, and that’s not going on here. Now if I see something that I have a differing opinion about I am going to post it, but I'm not going to tear down another’s beliefs. To all the Christians out there, when you see a question that you disagree with why don’t you try to give valid arguments instead of lashing out? And to all those who don’t believe in God why are you asking questions that you know will start fights? If you have a true question then ask it without demeaning us and acting like we are idiots for believing in God. Both sides of this are acting like animals. Now that’s a way to bring someone to Christ. Let’s cut them down. And to those unbelievers, if you want to see out perspective, then don’t act like we are cavemen for giving our opinions!

i'm 17 going on 18 years old and thinking about moving in with my bf's (boyfriend) parents house, yes he lives there too and we plan to go to college there in PA. But my mom said that by oregon law you can't move 'till your age 21, but i thought you can be age 18 to do whatever you want because your an adult, right?

Are new moms too protective or are mother in laws too mingly? WHy is it that so many women love their MIL but as soon as the baby pops out and the mother in law holds the baby we develop this sudden uneasy feeling that makes us despise our mother in laws????????????????????????????????????????????????

3 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant but my partner isn't ready. He had already left me last week because I told him that I wanted to keep it. He told me if I cared about him I would have an abortion and wait 1 year, because he wants to do everything right. We have been living together for 4 years and still not married, so first he wants to get out of debt, get married and have kids later. (He already has a 7 years old daughter from previous marriage) He is turning 36 and I'm 28, I feel ready, I have always prayed to God to get pregnant.
We are back together now because he thinks I will have an abortion, but my plan is to live with my family where I can get support while I'm on mat leave.
I know he doesn't love me because if he did he would respect my decesion to have this child. I already have accepted this fact, and the reason why I'm with him now because I'm spending my last days with him till my tummy gets bigger. Does he have the rights? I have already promised to God.

When I look at the long list of seekers who reportedly achieved some degree of "perfection", I see a lot of men who were isolated and alienated from the societies that gave birth to them.

Off the top of my head: Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, ascetic gurus, nuns, monks, priests.

With very few exceptions (Mohammed and Confucious) striving for "perfection" seems to lead away from human relationships and towards isolation from humanity.

Why?
