I think I have ended up in the minority on this vegetarian topic.
I have heard of many v*gans who will buy pre-packaged products like raman noodles or some such and throw away the meat packet… or buy jeans that have the big, leather label and cut off the leather part. Those are smaller examples… I wish I could think of a bigger one at the moment.

In my world, buying meat is as good as eating it. I do not mean they are not v*gan, I just mean that you contributed money to the slaughtering of animals and told a company to make more.

I am only a vegetarian, so I do not have a ton of room to talk, but I feel that not contributing to the product is as important as not consuming the product.

Vegetarians and vegans, what are your thoughts? Did I miss something?

Do you think President Bush is a Christian Apocalyptist?

He could do things in the next three to six months of 2007 that will take the world on a course of religious world war between the Western dominated lands versus the Islamic lands that Nostradamus predicted Some are saying President Bush studies the prophecies of Daniel, Eezkiel, Revelation and seeks advice from Political Advisors as well as Spiritual Advisors..
If this is the case is our President just doing what is destined to happen anyways? and can we really change history that is foretold to us in the Holy Bible?

Christians: Is lying a SIN no matter the situation?

One of the things I find much easier to grasp with regards to morality after becoming atheist is the concept of lying.

As a christian it seemed that the Bible says 'lying is a sin' no matter what. Even if your intentions are good it is still wrong.

For example: If a wife asks "Do these pants make my butt look big?"
If you believe that they do, is it wrong to lie to make her feel happy?

There are many other situations where I believe that lying is necessary. And NOT wrong.
With morality being more based on empathy and compassion, I find I can judge these situations better and not feel I am doing something wrong in the process.

How do you christians feel when you come across similar situations?
Do you believe that lying is a sin no matter what?

is it fair that illegals are even being mentioned a path to citizenship?

i mean if you or i were to do something illegal,we would be fined jailed and never trusted again even though most would only do so if it mean survival.but if your an illegal and you break about 100 laws a day easily,you get rewarded with a possiblity of citizenship.does the united states treat illegal forgien invaders better than there own poor citizens?

I gotta pass a drug test?

Well I recently got a new job (like thursday) and they said they would give me a call this week so we could set up a day to start. So I just quit my current job. Well I found out yesterday that they do a urine drug test before I can start. I smoked like a few hits friday night. So I just want to know how long it would take to get it out of my system. I am by no means a pot head, I smoke a little bit every now and then. The last time I smoked before that was early in march. I also have a pretty fast metabolism and I take cranberry supplements and drink cranberry juice daily for diffrent reasons. I am also on this detox program thing I started a week ago, I take like 12 pills a day and one of those is for whole body detox and has milk thistle in it. I really dont think I have a whole lot to worry about considering it wont be for about a week. I asked a bunch of stoners I know and they said I am being paranoid, but then other people are like "omg its gonna take at least a month to get out of ur system no matter what!!" so I am not sure, anyone have some ideas. Thanks

Date ditched for prom?

my prom is this friday, and the girl i am taking i have been friends with for a long time. i am a senior, she is a sophmore and her bf is a sophmore.

when i asked her to prom she was signle so she decided lately that she would still go with me and her bf was kinda uneasy but said ok....

If a fetus has it's own DNA, and is a body, then why is it not classified by medical science as human?

If it is a separate life from the mother, then how can the argument that a 'woman should have the right to do with her body what she wants to do' jive with the fact that the baby inside her also has its own body?

The life of the fetus has been established. We are beyond the medical point of doubt. What does not make sense is the illogic being used to justify murder of innocent children.

Is there anyone out there who incredulously denies the life of the child?
