Can anyone please help me to answer this question:

How can the ability to pentrate matter be used to distingushed between alpha beta and gama rdiation?

You can attempt to "block" the radiation from reaching a detector by placing some shield in front of it. This can be done stepwise, starting with the alpha particle. Most of these can be stopped by heavy cardboard. If the count drops, it indicates alpha particules. If not, the radiation is either beta or gamma.

Then you can try this with a beta particle blocker such as lead foil. If the count drops furher, it indicates beta particules. If not, the radiation is gamma.

umm relies upon what i'm thinking approximately.. maths? i think of i'm truthfully an alpha philosopher! yet with different issues i'm beta, so someplace in between the two i assume. Its no longer some thing I even have ever theory approximately.
