There is NOTHING you can 'buy' with that $100 that would be as 'valuable' to your mom as 'time with you' ... so why don't you plan a 'special day' for 'just the two of you' ... give her a card with an 'invitation' inside it ... tell her to 'make a date in the next two weeks' for the WHOLE DAY to be spent with you. Then ... give her 'breakfast in bed' and enough time for a long bath or shower ... the DO WHAT SHE LIKES TO DO FOR FUN BEST OF ALL ... it could be 'hiking' in the mountains, or it could be going to a 'spa' ... you may 'take a picnic' or have a 'nice lunch' at a 'slightly expensive' restaurant (according to the money you have to spend) ... and be sure to 'take a camera' and have 'strangers' take your picture together all through the day. This will be 'the most memorable' gift you can ever give your mom ... and will last far longer in her 'memory' than a ring with your birthstones. At the 'end of the day' (you don't have to have dinner with her, because that's 'night') give her ONE 'long-stemmed' rose in her 'favorite color' and THANK HER for being YOUR MOM, and tell her I LOVE YOU, MOM.

I loved receiving my mother's ring, but good luck finding one for $100. If you have siblings you could ask them to chip in on it-I would guess you could get a nice one for $300 or so, maybe even just under that if you watch for sales ads. Buy her flowers, serve her breakfast in bed, do the housework, make lunch and take her out to dinner. Good luck!

Of course that will be enough! i am a mother and I would love something so thoughtful and loving. Its way better than things money bought, but if you really feel its not enough make her a card but singing and playing the guitar seems like a beautiful idea. You are very caring :)
