I have a tv/vcr combo that is hooked up to a dvd recorder. I had it hooked up to play dvd's through the tv, but it doesn't work to transfer vhs to dvd (and its not copyright, its a home video). I tried switching to the audio/video IN spots on the recorder, but then the tv doesn't recognize it. With the cords in the a/v OUT spots it seems like its recording but just shows black when i go to play it.

i own a craft myspace with my cousin, and when i want to add, say, pink to a black and white picture i found on google or photobucket, the square on the end of the paint brush could be pink, but it colors in gray.
sometimes it does this, and sometimes it lets me color on them.
does anyone know how i can color on the ones that wont let me?is there a special setting that i have to put on that picture?

My girlfriend has a lot of sports cards (2,500+) that we are looking to sell. Neither of us have the time or knowledge to go through every single card and find its value to sell it. We also don't have a large amount of money, but I would be willing to get it appraised if it meant getting more money for it. I want to sell them fairly fast (1 year or sooner). Any suggestions?

Do you think humans live in a false reality, like the matrix or Allegory of the Cave. Humans do not have the same senses as animals. So could our lack of senses be hindering us from seeing the truth?

As an amateur astronomer, I have become a passionate hater of daylight saving time and standard time because I believe they are unnatural measurements of the time of day. Therefore, I set my clock to the true solar time of the north-south line that runs through the middle of my house. I still have to operate on the legal time because everyone else does, but I don't believe a clock should tell a different time than the sun indicates. When my clock reads noon, it really is noon by the sun. I also don't think that the federal government has any moral right to tell people how to reckon the time of day. I understand that as travel became faster, there was pressure to standardize time, but should commerce be put before nature or the other way around?

It's getting to be that time of the year... but why's it have to itch so much?
And don't even speak of removing my manly chest mane... that would be even more torture.

I have a business degree, and I'm working in my field, but I like to write. In fact, English was always my best subject. I think it would be fun to write a book of some kind.

I know people have discussed that it's perfectly okay to have each person pay for their own meal and drinks, and chip in collectively for the bride. However, my friends insist that you have to split the bill evenly, and that is proper etiquette. However, I disagree because I think that the bulk of the bill ends up being alcoholic beverages, which I can't drink. In the end, they're making out pretty well. I personally think if anything, it's bad etiquette to expect someone to front the bill (excluding the bride's tab) for their meals and drinks, especially in the case, where a person doesn't/can't drink Can anyone enlighten me here and tell me whether my way of thinking is correct or what. Also, how am I supposed to tell them that I can't afford to do that when it's automatically expected as "proper etiquette"?

In 1889, a man and his daughter go to Paris for the Fair. They check into hotel, sign the register, get rooms next door. The daughter unpacks, goes next door to see her father. He says he's tired and will nap. She is fine and will take a walk. She returns at 3-4pm and knocks on his door. No reply. She goes to the desk. Not only no message, but her father is not registered at the hotel. The clerk shows her her signature with other signatures top and bottom, but not her father's. First she wants the manager. He says the room next door is unoccupied. Then she wants the police. An inspector appears. She can describe the wallpaper and furniture in her father's room. The inspector orders the room opened. Everything is different from what she said. Years later, the inspector says that her father was ill of cholera or plague when he checked in. He died soon after. They reconditioned the room to avoid jeopardizing the 1889 Paris Exposition.

I recently moved out of the apartment I was cohabiting with my boyfriend of 1 year and 8 months. We have had rocky times and great times, so it is an average relationship until recently. His mother is a hypochondriac and she hurts me by using rude remarks alot and getting away with it. I confronted my bf to tell him I felt in the shadows because of it and we argued so much that it had to crumble. However, a microscopic aspect of the core of our problems lies in communication. We spoke online about maybe making up and trying again without his mum in our minds which seemed fair enough as our love is still strong. But today I bought him a spare ticket to a concert to which he didn't say thankyou for. I had to ask him if he was going to in order for him to say it, and it occurred to me that this happened alot during the rocky times to cause arguments. I asked him if he was uncaring and he just said 'maybe' and challenged me by cussing me. Is it my own high expectations? Am I wrong? :(
