I am looking for a training program or weight workout that will help create faster movements and better lifts.

Pilates and yoga are good. I dance ballroom competitively for 6 years. I've never done any ballroom-based workout because from what I've seen on commercials, they mess up the technique big time. If you consider dancing ballroom seriously - pilates or yoga will go you a lot of good. Ballroom techinque-oriented group classes are the best workout that I found so far.

I don't know what to recommend for lifts. I don't work on Showdance.

Hi there. I'm a competitive partner dancer too.

I'd recommend workouts which increase your aerobic capacity (your fitness) so that you can do the physical work of dancing and sustain your performance; and strength-building exercises for the whole body, and expecially the core muscles (in the abdomen, where your control comes from).

Do not do workouts which are designed to increase muscle bulk. I've found that increasing muscle bulk impedes rapid movement and reduces lead sensitivity.
