This child must be smelling bread cause this is a new one on me, what smells like flour nothing but bread as I know of maybe I am just dumb still, if the psychiatrist and doctors weren't handing out so many pills people wouldn't be doing so many drugs when are we going to get the guilty and stop getting those that can't really defend themselves?

say " honey I am so sorry you had to see me do this, I have had a flour addiction since I was a very young girl, NO wait a minute, maybe it is a GOOD thing you saw me, now I can at least stop you from getting addicted to flout like I am, so take my advice, RUN from this place now and do not stop until you get home safe and sound" go ahead tell them that.

Tell them the truth. They saw you doing it, there is no way to back out then.
Just say, "Honey, it's not flour it's backing soda and I'm checking to see if this batch is fresh enough so I can back you some cookies.
That's always worked for me.
