Why is it OK to let a child live in the foster care system, but not OK to abort an unwanted pregnancy?

Apparently, this "unadoptable" child is not wanted.

Was this a "snub"? Friend didn't bring gift to baby shower.?

At a recent baby shower, a colleague/friend first asked the mommy-to-be to drive out of her way to give her a lift to the shower and then didn't bring a gift for the baby. (It's been more than a month and still no gift has been given.) Our circle is mixed about this: some say she was pretty rude others (including me and the mommy-to-be) want to give her the benefit of the doubt. Any thoughts?

Reincarnation vs. illusion in Buddhist theology?

As I understand it, Buddhism teaches that the self is an illusion. Yet it also teaches reincarnation. Aren't these contradictory? If there is no self, what gets reincarnated?

Why does librals want to take away our guns?

Them librals want to take our guns away from us, so that the government can control us. Thats why our forefathers comed up with the second amendment. They was protectin us from the Gov't. Librals want to take that freedom away. Why does they think "guns kill people" when it's the peoples that kill other peoples!

Do you think that rap music is keeping black people down?

This is not meant as a racist question.

I personally believe that the "culture" created by SOME rappers, based around, being thug, having bling etc. etc. actually keeps black people down. In fact, lets extend it: Not just black people but anyone in a rough life situation who listens to this music.

It gives them nothing to aspire to, and basically makes it look cool to shoot people, to go to jail, to pimp...... I could go on.

Anyway, what do you think? Should we censure this type of music? I recognize rap as an artform, but I don't this the place its been taken to in the last 10 years is a good thing.

Weigh in! What does everyone think?

If christians aren't meant to be eaten, why are they made of meat?

Ban on Partial Birth Abortion - Will the Supreme Court Ruling allow states to decide this issue?

(Note, this question is NOT about whether the law is right or wrong ethically - that's a different question). But instead, I'm asking about the new Supreme Court Ruling about the ban on partial birth abortions: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070418/ap_on_go_su_co/scotus_abortion

It appears that certain states have previously ruled on whether this this procedure is constitutional or not. So, in light of the supreme court decision, will it be thrown back to the states to make decisions or will federal law supercede any state issues?
