fundamentals: Battery; if this is 3 a million/2 to 4 a million/2 Years previous or seems Swollen (Shorted) on the standards replace it. If it form of feels reliable do away with and entirely charge it then have it "Load examined" for 15 Seconds at 50% of CCA no longer dropping below 9.6 Volts for the duration of the attempt showing if the Battery can Take and carry a charge. Starter; Have a "Draw attempt" accomplished, if this is Drawing too many Amps it is going to short Out the Starter Relay and/or Solenoid. tests; The Battery Cables could be sparkling and shield on the Battery & Starter Solenoid. Grounds at Starter to dam, Alternator to dam & Block to Firewall Strap sparkling and shield.

Because the primary electrical circuit is going to ground. Start at the battery and clean the terminals and see if that helps, particularly if you see acid build up on the poles.
