1. Only hours before the Dec. 31 deadline, Bill Clinton gave the United Nations its most significant victory so far in its relentless quest for global governance: the International Criminal Court. Clinton ordered David Scheffer, ambassador-at-large for war crimes issues, to sign the 1998 Rome Statute, just before the deadline at midnight.
To be a world government, the United Nations needs three powers: 1) the ability to make law; 2) the ability to enforce its laws; and 3) the power to levy taxes necessary to fund its operations.
The U.S. endorsement of the ICC means that the United States accepts the principle of centralized, global law enforcement, as superior to the principles of law enforcement contained in the U.S. Constitution. Clinton said he signed the document to "Reaffirm our strong support for international accountability."

James M. Broder of the New York Times predicted that "The President, in effect, will try to find a space between the First Amendment's protection of free speech and the Second Amendment's guarantee of the right to bear arms." So the summit on violence will produce a new "study" on violence by Surgeon General David Satcher, who like Hillary Clinton, has a definitely negative point of view towards the Second Amendment. I predict that any report will parrot the Clinton proposals for gun control legislation.

Speaking of blanket statements and lumping everyone into a group. . .
I think that everyone has the right to decide what is right for them, and they have the right to address it and try to change it. That is what America is based on. It is called FREEDOM.
I believe in the right to own a gun if you so choose. I don't think all guns are acceptable or necessary (assault rifles), but that is my right and choice.
I think that insurance companies are implementing a way to rid the nation of the poor and lower middle class by providing better health coverage to those that can afford it. Blanketing it across the board where everyone pays the same for coverage (minus the elderly and those on public assistance), and receive the same coverage is the fair way to go. Insurance companies are getting rich on premiums while covering less. So unless you are in favor of the RICH, then I would think some sort of reform might be beneficial to EVERYONE.
I think it would benefit everyone if we mandate things run/be cleaner than they are now. The technology is there, as is the know how. It is a matter of companies cutting into their millions in profits to implement them.
I don't think this is Lennin-esque. I think this is SMART. I think that making certain things a bit more level for everyone - I am speaking of things that aid in the SURVIVAL of everyone. Big houses, fancy cars, expensive clothing and jewels; the rich can keep those things. But I do think there are certain things that shouldn't rely on the size of your wallet to receive equally.
Obviously, the wealthy Republicans don't want that to happen - because that would mean sharing the world with the filthy, impoverished people as well as the snooty rich ones.

Liberals share a belief in individual rights, free enterprise, representative democracy, and the rule of law. In this sense, almost all Americans accept liberal ideals, so much so that it is easy to forget how revolutionary these ideals were when the American Constitution was written. Jefferson said "peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none." All of our founding fathers considered liberalism a foundation of “the grand experiment”, America. In our era, liberalism has been derided to appear weak and elitist, and, our military is used to enter entangling alliances with some. Think liberal, think BIG!

They only want to control what you think, believe, say ,eat, wear, buy, drive, your children, redefine family, recreation, how you do business, where you do business, what you think. I said that already. They want to control where you spend your money, how you spend your money, they want to tax you more so they can be the aristocratic elites and spend your money on themselves. Its endless what these small minded power monger Dems will do.
Good call on the Republicans becoming more like the new Democrats. Probably trying to get the angry liberals votes.

I think it's closer to socialism. They won't admit it - they say they are "moderates" and that they do the will of the people. That's a load of crap!
However, I'm a Conservative and I want restrictions on the purchase of guns!
