If you are using a tanning creme or lotion, then yes, it will fade the tan. You need to follow the directions on the bottle to see how long you have to wait for the product to dry thoroughly.
If you are tanning in a booth or in the sun, then no, showering will not affect your tan. The skin tans because the sun is exposed to UV rays (ultraviolet light from the sun) and the upper layer of the skin (epidermis) is damaged. So, the body trys to protect the lower layers of skin by producing melanin. Melanin is the substance that gives your skin color. The more the epidermis is damaged by UV rays, the more melanin the lower layers of skin produce and the more tan you get.
Your melanin (skin color) is produced on a cellular level and cannot seep through your pores or come out of your skin in any way. If it could, then all dark people would be very pale after a long shower. Melanin is also responsible for freckles. If your freckles don't wash off in the shower, neither will your tan.
I have never been told not to shower after tanning. I suppose if someone were foolish and baked themselves to a crisp then showering would not be a good idea becasue it would further irritate the skin - unless it were just a cold shower with no soap in order to cool the skin.

i`ve never noticed any difference...i go to the tanning bed daily, & many times i will immediately come home & shower because i have an appointment, etc...it doesn`t seem to affect my color whatsoever...if, however, u are using one of the bronzing lotions when u tan, i would try to wait a couple of hours to shower, to give the bronzer time to properly absorb into your skin...

i admire this colour blend-my sister used the comparable for her wedding ceremony and it replaced into very stylish! i could extremely do black for the tablecloths, white porcelain or sparkling glass plates and commerce the napkins at each putting-extraordinary purple, lime, orange tied with some sort of coordinating ribbon in a small width so that's no longer too flashy. For the centerpieces, a l. a. Martha, i could use gerbera daisies in those 3 colorings tied tightly jointly in a sparkling glass sq. vase with the two a super satin ribbon in lime green glued around the vase a pair of million/4 from the precise-ot bypass away it ordinary. in spite of direction you %-i in my opinion think of theblack tablecloths will act as an anchor for all the different colorings on an identical time as firming it down and starting to be attractiveness on the comparable time. solid success!

YES...I worked at a tanning salon and it is recommended that you not shower for 3-4 hours after tanning. Something to do with open pores and pigment.?! Good luck

You should wait a while because your body is like a frying pan. Once it has been on the eye, if you take it off and put it underwater it sizzles. Your skin would do that if you got directly in the shower. Now you see why?
