Hold up, I'm not asking for your opinion on the verdict. Rather, here's what I would like to point out. Why did it seem so acceptable for everyone to question the stripper's "character" just because she's a stripper, when it seems like the lacrosse player revealed a lot more about is character when he shouted racist things, and later wrote an email about killing strippers? Regardless of what you think of this SPECIFIC case, does this reveal a double standard regarding how we treat sex industry workers? If so, is this prejudice likely to make it difficult for dancers and other sex industry workers who have been assaulted to find justice?
