Yes a cold compress if he'll let you, if not try to keep him off the paw as much as possible until you can get to the vet.

Who suggested waiting a WEEK? Madness!

Chalice

Ice it, Rescue Remedy is a good one to give, 4 drops on the gums and it keeps the dog calm. Arnica montana a homeopathic pellet takes down swelling and is used for bruising and trauma. I have used these 2 things with good results both on myself and my animals.

Hi yes you can put cold compresses on the paw. He probably sprained the wrist joint. You can put the compress on for 10 minutes every hours.
