yes, money can bring us many things, but not all

money can buy u bed, cannot buy u good sleep
money can buy u pills, cannot buy u good health
money can buy u clock, cannot buy u time
money can buy u sex, even marriage, cannot buy u true love

Many people will tell you, "No! money does not bring happiness, its love that brings happiness!"

Well, those people are full of sh-t! This is what i think:

i think, that money can bring you happiness, but not FULL happiness. To obtain full happiness, i think you would have to have a good amount of money and find the love of your life.

Here's an example: Ever since i was a little girl, I wanted to live in Lexington, Kentucky on a big horse ranch. Well, I graduated college and became an equine veterinarain. I saved up money, and moved to Lexington and purchased a ranch adn now own 4 horses. The ranch made me very happy, and the ranch was what i lived for. But when i married the love of my life, i was very happy. And i could never be any happier.

So yes, i think money does have to do with a rather large amount of happiness in our lives.

As so many fine answers have quoted before me, money itself does not bring the happiness people seek, rather it is the things we do with it which brings the fulfilment so often sought.

Why is this so. It is because people do not cling to the idea of money per se. Rather they use it as a tool to fulfill a dream, usually with the idea of helping others in some way.

To have money is fine, but to not use it would be the ultimate boredom. To use it to make more money would also prove boring, what would be the point..?

Peace from a Buddhist...

Yes, i think it does. I know love and dreams can bring happiness, but then reality will take action. Love can't make money, unless you are a celebrity or you are on a reality show. You can have a dream that will be a success as long as it is possible. Life does not care for your soul. So if you have money and things that make your soul happy, then you are all good. Say that you have a happy family, but then one of you loses your job and you cant make money, causing stress.

Ogden Nash has some lines on topic, at the end of his poem "The Terrible People":

Certainly there are lots of things in life that money won't buy, but it's very funny --
Have you ever tried to buy them without money?

The poem is worth looking up and reading in its entirety.

In my view it is sometime the case that the difficulties of life are so daunting that happiness is not possible without sufficient means to diminish suffering. But once the basics are taken care of, a surplus of money doesn't seem to contribute much to happiness.

No, but it does bring comfort! On the other hand, being poor certainly doesn't bring happiness either. Given the two choices I'd rather rich, comfortable and unhappy, rather than poor, uncomfortable and unhappy. Of course, having said that, being rich is certainly no guarantee of unhappiness either.

The only thing that predicts your happiness or misery is how you react to life.

No. And the love of money is the root of all evil. But in order to make life easier, we must learn how to earn, save, and value money as legal tender that allows us to live and acquire material things and comfort. Happiness comes from placing everything in correct perspective, including Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and nurturing your relationships in the give and take of life.

I think happiness is indirectly related to money. Let me explain....it definitely makes life easier. When your life is easier (not worrying about mortgage, car problems, etc.) it tends to relieve peoples stress. When people are not so stressed there is more room and opportunity for happiness.
