For example, as yahoo.com is loading, I see +++++++++++++++ in the search box - as if I were holding down that key while the page is loading. But of course I'm not. What is causing this to happen?

I've now seen 2 reports of this on a TV consumer program, but they don't say exactly what causes it. The reports related to groups of new-builds in 2 housing estates in UK.
Apparently the developers say it is due to the residents not using enough water to keep the pipework flushed (which is obviously denied by the residents). The other reason they gave is high levels of phosphates in the water reacting with the copper, but it sounded like the water company & independant tests proved otherwise. Some residents have had to have all their pipework replaced to resolve it - but they don't say why.
Does anyone out there know what really might be causing it, because I don't like a mystery!
I always thought copper-pipe was a long-proven safe material for water transport, and it would only start to oxidize in the presence of lots of oxygen (eg the pipes were run-dry/airlocked)?

I am about to graduate college with a batchelors in mechanical engineering and I already have a job line up for when i get out. I am going to be doing finite element/structural anaysis for general dynamics.

My question is this: If I want to eventually get into machinery design or something along those lines will I be less sought after because I worked on finite analysis and have no experience in design? Or, would any previous mechanical engineering job 'in the real world' be better than being fresh out of college, even though it doesn't directly relate to what I would be doing at this new job?

I have concern of my son having autism, but my husband thinks he just has a delay. This is my story.
My son was born normally with no complications and grew up as a happy baby and he even started walking early at 9 months. At about 14 or 15 months i started having a concern that he didn't want to be held anymore and he wouldn't respond to his name when we would call him. Now at 22 months he doesn't talk at all , not one word. He grunts all the time, walks on his toes, covers his ears, lines up everything from shoes to toys. He is just in his own world. I have another son who's 4 and he tries to play with him but my 22 month old just looks at him and then goes and do his own thing. My husband doesn't think anything is wrong with him. I took him to the doctor but they keep giving me the run around and i think it's very fustrating that I can't get proper help for my child. If some one has any answers that can help me out please feel free. Thank you. I live in California
