Im 29/fem & my g/f of 6 years broke up with me suddenly 11 weeks ago and we have had no contact whatsoever for the last 4 weeks. I am totally wrecked by this and I am trying to be strong and listen to everybody when they tell me "you'll get over this"
Last night I discovered that she has updated her profile on a well known website that lets old school friends see what you are up to now. She added to her profile that she has a gorgeous g/f and she is very happy. I was shocked I admit but I calmly phoned her and asked her and she denied everything. All she could say was "who told you that" then she got angry with me as usual.
All I want is to know the truth, fine, she may not want to hurt me anymore but I am at the lowest point right now and her lying about it is making me feel like she hates my guts and that I am nothing but dirt on the bottom of her shoe.

Am I wrong to ask for her to have the decency to be honest with me so that I can get closure on this once and for all??

Any JW's remember the Smurf Doll incident in the 1980's?

A story went through the congregations in the 1980's that a new family at WT Study one Sunday let their daughter bring her Smurf Doll to the meeting; and, that during the meeting the doll jumped off the chair and said, "I've had enough of this ****," and walked out the door. As you may recall, it was commonly believed in the WT that Smurfs were representative of demons.

My question for current or former JW's who were in the Tower then, how was this received in your congregation; and, do you have any other incidents you remember?

When does it become child abuse?

I'm all for freedom of religion, but do you think it should be illegal to brainwash children too far? I mean there are actually lunatics who are putting creationism on equal grounds with evolution, an undebatable scientific fact, with thousands of pieces of evidence. Please evangelicals, do not mention the word theory in this thread without first researching gravity and what the word theory in science means. They home school their kids and specifically tell them that evolution is false and creationism in 6 days is the truth. When does this become child abuse? They are closing their child's minds up, and only promoting hatred and bigotry to spread, some would consider this an especially hanus form of child abuse.
