ok to find the x intercept you make y=0
4x+2(0)=24
4x=24
x=24/4
x=6
to find the y intercept you make x=0
4(0)+2y=24
2y=24
y=24/2
y=12
y intercept=12 (0,12)
x intercept= 6 (6,0)

There are many different ways to solve for this- I'll try and to the most simple one ....
4(X) + 2(Y) = 24 ---- first let y=o to find the x intercept.
4X + 0 = 24.
Now solve for X.
4x = 24
4X (/ 4 ) = 24 (/ 4 ) divide both sides by 4.
X= 6.
now substitute the values of (X,Y) so the first ordered pair would be Y=0 & X=6 giving your answer the ordered pair of (6,0)
*subsitute different numbers for Y and you will be able to graph a straight line to check your answer.

Julev, this is something you should be able to figure out for yourself. If you look at a graph with an x and y- axis, the X-INTERCEPT is a horizontal line along which y=0. In that case, x=6. The Y-INTERCEPT is a vertical line along which x=0. In that case y=12. Then, two POINTS on the line are (6,0) and (0,12). As long as you know any TWO point on a line in "2-space", you can figure out the equation of the line. You will probably get homework to do this too. Have fun.

4x+2y =24
2y = 24-4x
y = 12-2x
Y intercept ----> if we make x zero, then y = 12
Y-intercept is (0,12)
X intercept -----> if we make y zero, then x would be 1
X-intercept is (1,0)
hope this helped ^__^
