"I'm a light bulb," answers the man. "I think you need some time off," says the boss. So, the man jumps down and leaves. The blonde begins to walk out, too. The boss asks, "Where do you think you're going?" The blonde answers, "I'm going home. I can't work in the dark."

Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack's minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. So they pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered he door if they could spend the night.

"I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed," she explained. " I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house"

"Don't worry," Jack said. "We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light."

The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night.

Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.

But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.

He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked

"Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north about 9 months ago?"

"Yes, I do." said Bob

"Did you happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house and pay her a visit?"

"Well, um, yes," Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out

"I have to admit that I did."

"And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your name?"

Bob's face turned beet red and he said, "Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy.

I'm afraid I did." Why do you ask?"

"She just died and left me everything."

(And you thought the ending would be different, didn't you?... now keep that smile for the rest of the day

Seriously, would any President be a good one if his wife lost a long, hard-fought battle against cancer? Wouldn't he be totally distraught? How is he going to deal with Iran and Korea if he is in a dark room grieving? You could say, "Ah, he'll get over it." But you just don't know. Politicians--believe it or not--are people, too. They are subject to being distracted, getting depressed, and needing some time to get affairs in order. Would you be really comfortable knowing that your President is about to start taking a new anti-depressant? Those things have side-effects in some people, you know...

And if he is not grieving, what does that say about him??? Shouldn't he be spending the last few months of his wife's life with her??? What does that say about this man???

My husband and I are debating whether to get a third car. His side: it would be convenient to have a third car if one of the others breaks down. My side: our other two cars are in good running order, and adding a new car to the mix doesn't make sense economically or environmentally. Our current cars include a 1996 Dodge Neon and a 1999 Toyota 4Runner. We own, no payments. I think we should continue to save money until we absolutely need a new car, but he says it is a pain to rent one every time he needs to work on one of the others. Today he told me, "Fine, you don't want another car, you can just walk to work the next time one of them breaks down." He truly thinks I am making a stupid decision by not wanting to tie up our budget in a car that we don't need right now. It's cheaper to rent one once or twice a year than to buy one and pay for it every month. Both cars are currently running well.
