I need to know what the gap is on a 97 Ranger 2.3 liter?

The gap is 0.044"

Should be .060"

There should be a white decal either under the hood or on the upper radiator support that will give you timing information, plug gap, Motorcraft spark plug number, etc. You can check there if you're not sure.
