Lets just take the first point:

The probably of God's existence is one in two. That is, God either exists or doesn't.

Nonsence, lets just look at it from another point.

The probably of Harry Potter existence is one in two. That is, Harry Potter either exists or doesn't.

Same argument - must have same result unless there is an external reference. There isn't so by that argument Harry Potter must exist

His logic is incorrect. Probability has nothing to do with "either something exists or it doesn't." He's mixing a math concept with a logic concept, and that doesn't fly.

You can apply the same "logic" to anything and get the same result. By his argument, the probability of ANYTHING existing or not existing is 50/50. So there is a 1 in 2 chance that unicorns, the Easter Bunny, and the tooth fairy are real as well.

I believe in goddess, but that's a ridiculous argument.

Is this a puton? I find it hard to believe an Oxford professor could be so dumb.

To put his "either it happened or it didn't" argument into context, imagine thinking you have a 50% chance of winning the Powerball lottery jackpot. Cuz either you win it or you don't- 50/50.

I don't trust his math. He starts by confusing probability and chance. The likely hood of there being a God is not 1 in 2. It is actually vanishingly small.
This stuff always happens when preachers try to think on their own.

True that. Not just love stories. It's foolishness to compare any part of life with movies.

I hate to break it to the professor but it doesn't prove specifically anything about Jesus.... the possibly of God incarnating is one of the main tenets of Hinduism (the ten avatars of Vishnu).

Silly Christian fanatics...ha ha..

LOL. That's truly embarassing for Oxford. Dawkins must have had tea coming out of his nose when he listened to that lecture.

No... math cannot prove god...*chuckling* real mathematics would demonstrate the low odds of a god's existence.
