I prefer not to observe any "holidays".....you know, birthdays, christmas, thanksgiving, and so on. i don't have any specific reason why, i just don't find those things enjoyable (too much consumerism for me!) anyone else have thoughts on this?

I have a small flem and my nose is congested. It feels as if the snot is in the very far back of my nose almost in my air duct area. I feel fine other than this though. Is this allergies or is this the beginning of a cold? Either way, what can I do to stop it now before it become full blown? I took some sudafed and have been drinking lots of fluids, hot tea, gargled salt water and vitamin C.

i have a 50 gallon tanks with 4 goldfish (2 small ones) and a common pleco (unfortunately i got it as a newbie and should have done my research!). I have recently got a very poweful external filter to improve my water quality. The tank is heated as there is a big variation in temp in the room and the so the temp is now constant at around 22-24 celcius, i was concerned at first but the water temp cant get any colder because of the room and although its not ideal after a year the fish are healthy and active.

I want some schooling fish or something interesting with a bit of colour, have considered minnows and zebra sanios but they are just too small and will be eaten! any suggestions, the local fish places havent got a good selection of goldfish, would I be ok looking at tropicals eg tetras or other danios? or what about giant danios. I have considered cory's but think the goldies would bully them too much. Has anyone else had any success stories?

Hi, I just got a parakeet an have been reading about them. My parakeet is somewhat quiet, and I read somewhere that this is not good, a quiet parakeet is not a happy one. He chirps here and there and just started. He doesn't play with his toys. He has bells, mirrors, they are colorful. any idea what other types of toys he may enjoy? And what about treats?? How can I make him happier and perhaps he is content?? Any advice would be great. I spend time with him every day. He appears ok, he is just quieter than I expected, a lot quiter than my cockatiel I had years ago. I am wondering, maybe he needs a mate? I don't know, i just want him to be a happy bird. Is he?? Please help!!

I recieved a voice text from BT telling me that my BT total broadband would be operational before midday on the 1st march. I currently have normal BT broadband 2.2Mbps and i recieved the home hub thing this morning. do i have to wait till the 1st March to set this up? or can i connect it all just now and my broadband will still work? and then come the 1st march it will be faster ? any help much appreciated!

Does she like me?Me and my fren (girl) have been very close. I once told her my feelings. And since then, we've really came to a stage where we were more than friends(but not couples). She is 1 year older than me and therefore moving overseas to study. B4 she left, i asked her out just to meet up but she said she will contact me later since she was bz with Xmas. A man is having a few drinks at a bar when he looks over and notices a drunk guy passed out at a table nearby. The bartender tells him the drunk is Mr. Murphy and asks the man if he could drive Mr. Murphy home. Being a good Samaritan, the man agrees. The bartender writes down the address and gives it to him.

The man walks over and tries to wake Mr. Murphy but Mr. Murphy is groggy and quite drunk. The man helps Mr. Murphy to his feet and Mr. Murphy falls to the floor in a heap.

"Jeez," the man says wondering how anyone could drink so much. He takes Murphy by the arm and practically drags him out to the car. Once there he leans him against the side of his car while he looks for his keys. Mr. Murphy slides down to the ground. The man finds his keys and manages to get Murphy positioned in the car.
