I bought a Tesco finest apple pie the other day but it has some weird white stuff in, is this normal? or could it be mould or just lumpy sugar?

Call tesco and ask them about it. White stuff? Dont know what that could be. Mold or lumpy sugar could be it. They will probably tell you to bring it back and they will give you another.

Taste it and find out.

If you don't want to do that take it back and get a refund. You could phone Tesco and ask if it is normal to have white fluff in the pie.

Ingredients are possibly:

600g/18oz/2 and a quarter cups of plain flour

300g/9oz. vegetable margarine

about half a cup of cold water

200/g/6oz/1 cup sugar

apples

Maybe you are seeing flour lumps - Call Tesco and check it out OR return it to the market and get a refund.

Don't get a lawyer (that respondent was obviously from the States - that's not how we do things in the UK). Just take it back to Tesco if there's anything about it you're not happy with.

it's probably corn starch (used to thicken the filling) or sugar. Taste it- even if it is mold, it won't hurt you!

That sounds like mold; I'd toss it, or take it back and get a fresh one!
