To Matty Mo: I would agree that its sounding the same (in the US at least) which is the stronges indication it is dying. No ones doing anything innovative or they are trying to sound like someone else. But that being said there are several genres including rock that I can say the same for. I think music in general is dying. But especially Salsa

i think it has already died in countries in which salsa at some point time was very popular. it has died because no new artists are being promoted, although i think salsa died long ago with the appearance of salsa sensual, salsa monga or whatever you want to call it.
personally, little by little im getting more into trance music out of all things, when once a hard core salsero de acero.

Its probably my untrained ear, but that music all sounds the same to me for some reason....
