I recieved a voice text from BT telling me that my BT total broadband would be operational before midday on the 1st march. I currently have normal BT broadband 2.2Mbps and i recieved the home hub thing this morning. do i have to wait till the 1st March to set this up? or can i connect it all just now and my broadband will still work? and then come the 1st march it will be faster ? any help much appreciated!

same thing happend to me so i set it anyway and found i was hooked up to the internet before the date they gave me.

Your probably best waiting until Thursday, it could well be already set up, but if it isn't you could get a bad install which could cause you loads of problems.
The first thing the Hub does is 'test' the line (you are supposed to leave it for about an hour). If the line isn't set up you could have trouble.
I was upgraded to the home hub from Bt voyager just after Christmas, and I can't say that there has been any increase in speeds, but setting up Bit torrent was simple.
A tip, Use Firefox instead of IE7, many people are reporting that the BT yahoo browser is not that compatible if you have IE7. BT yahoo sugest that you download their version of IE7.

Sorry pal wait until 1 March. Your lucky BT totally messed up mt order. Arrived late, bits missing and at that time I had to uninstall IE7 and reinstall IE6 before it would work. Spent a long time on the phone getting everything sorted.
Still all things being equal the service, now it is working, has been excellent.

I too have a BT home hub. It was set up before the date given but worked on the old service speed until the upgrade date. I didn't notice the change-over until I checked the speed myself.

I did mine on the day they said but could try be four, Will not damage anything. Being a bit slow I had to phone help line a couple of times to get set up properly. Hope your o.k. at understanding Indion.
I am happy with BT 8meg, at least you can get helpline.

You can connect this all now and it will still work. They tell you to wait because they want you to be able to set everything up in one setting including account set up, but you can do the physical set up before the service ready date! It won't affect anything.
