I'm Atheist too. I was wondering...as US citizens, do you find fair that on your bills and small change (your national currency) there's written : 'In God we trust'?

Isn't that discriminatory in a way? I mean, you're US citizens too right? So, why would a democratic, tolerant, not discriminating country print such a discriminatory statement on its bills? I'm asking this question as an Atheist living in a Secular country where religion is not allowed to interfere with social life.

A Muslim country with 'Allah-u Ekber' printed on its bills would be rightly considered a fundamentalist country, how about the US then? Don't you Atheists there have the right to be taken into account by your Administration too as US citizens? Shouldn't every country promote equality and abhor any sort of discrimination, including religious discrimination as well?

'In God' we trust' on your bills means that no Atheist is considered a US citizen, is that fair?

My son (who i adore) is from a previous relationship many years ago and my fella is his step father. I am now 36 and my body clock is running out (I feel). We split up for 8 months and he asked if he could come back in April last year. I agreed, but things would be different he promised. He has a phobia for marriage and I feel that I would like to be in a stable relationship (marriage) after what has happened to me in the past being a single parent is bloody hard work. I do know that just because we marry it doesnet mean that it can't go wrong. But I would feel more secure as he would be responsible in a monetry kind of way which I havn't had in 13 years. He has suddenly decided that he would quite like a child now. But he still won't marry me! I feel that is the commitment he has to make to me for me to give him a child, am I being unfair. I love him dearly, but also do I want a child when I am nearly 37 our lives are just starting again. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I know most McDonald's in Europe do not serve the traditional breakfasts that they do in the U.S.

Does anyone know whether they sell breakfast at McDonald's in Budapest?

If not, what do they serve instead?

My husband just got extended in Afghanistan, but he's not getting the extra pay that was promised him if he were to be there longer then the 12 month tour. It's a slap in the face that he was due home in only a week, and then pulled right away from me for 5 more months, but then, to not give him the extra pay, it's like putting salt in an all ready infected wound.
How do I go about making the public aware of this, and getting what those boys deserve?
their morale is low enough with being so close to coming home, and having that taken away.
I could understand MONTHS ago pulling a stunt like extending them, but not when a lot of our soldiers have made it home to their families, relieved it's over, only to have to turn right back around.
it's WRONG. and shady.
is there a forum of some sort where Americans could write in letters to their congress for support?

I'm kinda enduring an awkward situation at work. One of my closest guy friends works at the same place as I do and I began to develop feelings for him though he's in a long-distance relationship. I told him I liked him and that it was best that we ignore each other for awhile so I can get over him. Anyway he asked me if I wanted to hook up with him, i said i did, but then he said i should do it with another guy I like. Anyway during all of this, I got mad at him for jerking my feelings around and I ended up calling him a dog, but then I apologized. I said all of this via text. The next day I wrote him a letter saying how sorry I was for how I acted, and that it was better that we treat each other as professionals since he has a gf and I need to move on. The thing is that he ignored me. So far, we've been ignoring each other for the past 4 weeks and now it is awkward and i miss talking to him sometimes. Whenever we pass each other, he'll look away and pretend I don't exist.

I feel sad. Like he died or something. He won't stop, he laughs at me when i ask for respect. I now am going to follow through by missing family get togethers. I feel sad. Did I do the right thing? He makes fun of me and picks on me in front of other family, in front of my kids, and alone. He won't stop wrestling with my kids when they say 'stop' or 'ouch'.. and when I tell him to stop, he doesn't. When stand up for myself or my kids, he lashes out at me and calls me names like stubborn, sensitve, serious, etc. He argues with me over my decisions in life as if I owe him an explaination. I have wrote him a letter because he wont' listen to me in person. He wrote a sarasctic email back, basically saying that I am wrong (again.. sigh). So I told him that we won't be attending family functions until he can respect bounderies... Did I do the right thing. He won't give in, I am sure.. .and if he does, he will never like me again.. we were kinda close when I played by his rules..

Now what is the message there? The message is that there are no "knowns." There are thing we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. So when we do the best we can and we pull all this information together, and we then say well that's basically what we see as the situation, that is really only the known knowns and the known unknowns. And each year, we discover a few more of those unknown unknowns.

I love to quilt, but not that good at it, yet I heard there was an Amish quilt, made w/ Cockatiels on it? If this is true, I'd gladly pay the shipping and the cost of a copy of the pattern- I lost my special friendly cockatiel,in July 2006, and just want something to remind me of him , besides his picture, so i was told , there is a quilt w/ Cockatiels, made by the Amish?Thank- you, Moira
