ISAIAH 11:1-9 (A prophecy about Jesus)
And there shall come forth a shoot out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of Jehovah shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Jehovah. And his delight shall be in the fear of Jehovah; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears; but with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of his waist, and faithfulness the girdle of his loins. And the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of Jehovah, as the waters cover the sea."

Who's favorite? Mine would be Jeremiah 33:3-"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things that you do not know." and Philippians 4:6-7, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This is one of the toughest questions to answer that I have seen on here yet. There are so many. Lately I have been sharing, and spending time with 1 Thessalonians 2:13, "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."

all written in the bible was reflected on our lives and serves as our guide in life.........everyone could pick their favorite verses according to their own experiences and understandings.........for example, if i would pick my favorite verse at john 1:1, then my brother would pick psalm 27:1... therefore, we have different choices.........so there's no favorite verse in the bible unless it is you who chose the best one....

There are really too many to put here, so I will just include this one passage from 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 -

"Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all."

Showing how Christ will ultimately restore things to the way Jehovah purposes them to be, then will turn everything over to his Father, including himself.

One all time favorite when there is trouble or fear is the twenty third Psalm. It is like a litany of fear.

Yeah though I walk through the valley of death I shall fear no evil for thou art with me. Thy rod and my staff comfort me. Surly goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

1 Peter 4:12 "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed"
