face to face if at all possible - otherwise it can be used against you, with them claiming that if you really had such strong feelings why didn't you have the bottle to declare these feelings.

Face to face. Over MSN...it just isn't personal enough. Plus a million things could go wrong. You could be chatting with a sibling of theirs, stuff like that. Do it face to face.

Oh, MSN, by all means...it's so much more personal than actually looking in the eyes of the other person. Plus, the other person won't be able to tell that you are a weirdo.
