I had a Volvo 340 I paid £300 for it one week later a rubbish truck cliped the rear near side corner while it was parked taking the tail light off and denting the rear wing, the company amitted liabilaty and it was written off and their insurance paid me £450, I bought the car back for £20 and got a tail lamp from the scrapper for £10 and was back on the road and in profit.

I had a Renault 5 for a pound plenty of tax and mot can't remeber how long for. Bought a nova gte for £70 with 11months tax and mot, sold it for £600. Bought a Rover 218 turbo diesel for a tenner (9 months t&t) ran it for nearly 2 years the only thing i had to do to it was put a tyre on it for the next mot then gave it to my girlfriends brother.

It's great working for a car dealer sometimes.

nice one.

full marks to you for taking the risk.

2 of my mates always used to argue about thier Merc 200 vs SAAB 952.3 Aero.

They swapped. The Merc driver wouldn't give back the SAAB so they ended up swapping cars legally. The original SAAB driver was pissed off, he sold the merc for £5K just to joke it was worthless, and then bought another £25K SAAB

Anyway, that was a totally pointless aside, sorry about that.

Good for you, even if something happens now you've had your money's worth hundreds of times over. Also if you are that way inclined selling the parts as spares would give you even more for the £1 you spent. Anyone slagging you is just envious.

A mate of mine once got a Ford Cortina for a plate of soup. He didn't say if it was Campbells though.

My brother gave me his 280z. For free. You paid a pound more for your car than I did mine.

There ya go
