My washing machine just leaked. It totally flooded my flat, and my downstairs neighbour who is seriously pi**ed off at me! I've managed to soak up the majority of the water, using every towel and sheet i own. The drum is still full of water and without opening the door and letting it all spill out i really don't have a clue how to get it out. Please help! It's 2am on a Sunday morning and a plumber is going to cost an absolute fortune!!!

I'm wanting to keep my weight under control so I've started eating better and cutting back on soft drinks but I still have an occassional diet soda. If counting calories is an appropriate way to lose weight then would drinking diet colas help weight loss (even if they're bad for you) sine they have 0 calories? Also what are some good substitutes for diet colas that don't contain many calories or artifical sweeteners and help in losing weight other than water? I'm looking for something nice to snack on at work and take with meals instead of popping a few quarters in the machine that's 2 feet in front of my work area. Thank you.

Steak
Campbells Chicken noodle
Chocolate pudding
Any kind of CHOCOLATE!!!!
Mashed potatoes with LOTS of butter!!!
Peanut butter straight from the jar
And finally, marshmallows.

I've begun writing a novel about a young woman and a young man who are to have a relationship through the correspondence of letters- letters by mail that is, NOT email. They are from different countries, so my question is, how should the letter writing begin? Not the content of the letters, I have that figured out, but how should the whole thing begin without them actually coming face to face before the letter writing starts? I have no idea how to do this..any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you. :)

the screen is either blue, snowy looking, or turns back off alltogether. the power is on the tower and lights flash on the floopy and cd dirves. I have tried old recovery disks and origional software cd's in various orders. Nothing seems to change. I took the tower sides off and looked for loose or burnt pieces and cant see anyting except dust. Someone told me it would not be the hard drive because nothing would happen at all if that was the case. It is an old windows 98 computer and not worth investing in execpt my daughter wants a computer and this is all i can afford. What do you think the deal is? Motherboard, processer, hard drive, or what? How do I check.?
