I've begun writing a novel about a young woman and a young man who are to have a relationship through the correspondence of letters- letters by mail that is, NOT email. They are from different countries, so my question is, how should the letter writing begin? Not the content of the letters, I have that figured out, but how should the whole thing begin without them actually coming face to face before the letter writing starts? I have no idea how to do this..any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you. :)

what i mean is how should they meet? as in through the letters? should friends set them up or what? i don't want friends to set them up, but what is another way?

An ad in a magazine, or commercial on t.v..(.is that what you mean? I'm not sure I follow) A billboard..?

There are many newspapers in foreign countries with personal ads from women and men who seek to marry someone in a country with better living conditions.
