Does anyone work in a call center or in customer service too?

Are we entitled to any rights at all?

I work in a call center answering general enquiries, and my manager wants us to "be professional" by allowing customer to scold us, yell at us, curse, threaten, they can basically say anything to us and we just have to accept it.

A customer used tons of profanities on me, i'm have to tolerate 'cos if i interrupt, try to explain or stop him then i'll be blamed by my manager for being "unprofessional" by disrupting the customer. Then the customer starting cursing at my parents!!! I kept my cool n firmly told her "please do not say that about my parents" n she YELL at the top of her voice "HOW DARE YOU BE SO RUDE TO ME, I'M A CUSTOMER, YOU STUPID!!! YOU ARE SO STUPID!!

One of my collegue was told "WHY DON'T YOU JUST DIE YOU'RE COMPLETE USELESS "...!!! I mean.. we're people too, i do understand in customer service we deal with difficult people but isn't there a bottom line?

My friend, her parents are getting a divorce. I've been thru a divorce like 2 years ago. It was hard and I'm really feeling for her right now. I'm not sure what to do because like when my parents divorced I just wanted everyone to treat me like nothing was happening but then I was really feeling crappy too. I'm not sure how I can support her the best?

Should I ignore what she's going thru or talk to her about it? Or do something else? Please... I'm sonfused. Because whenever she talks about it, I just feel so sad and broken and it makes me think of my own life, and I start wanting to cry. I'm 13.. And yeah... What should I do?

When I read an engineering or technical manuscript from various published periodicals, sometimes I see high level mathematics like Calculus (differential or integral) or Laplace Transform being injected in the explanation which I find hard to follow, usually boring me and to discontinue reading. What do you think really is the purpose of the author for doing so? Is it not enough to just give the explanation in plain technical language which is easily understandable? Or, is it something of a requirement for an scholarly work? Normally, I skip those mathematics but I wonder how effective it is for others to see at the middle of the paper. I am thinking that the proof or derivation of his findings should not be mixed with the rhetorics and instead be treated separately at the end of the manuscript for the specialists who want to check more in detail his proof.

I've been trying to inquire about the whereabouts of my college friend which I know came to the east coast before. I tried to look into the internet and found many places in New Jersey where the same name is found. However, they say that I need to pay an amount so that they could give me their telephone number. i lost my father 5 years ago it will be 6 years on march 10th...well I have a 1 year old baby boy and lately i have been really depressed that my child will never know his grampa sometimes i wish i never had him because of this reason...is it wrong to feel this way?. I do love my son. i have had help before over my fathers death and i was on prozacts but i stopped taking them cause my doctor passed away and i don't have a therapist anymore. Should i take my son to his grave site??...it is rite to be sad after all these years? I guess it's so hard for me cause he died in the house we were living in, in front of my sister, mom and I...my mom is still there but i had to move in with my other sister cause i couldn't stand being there and i hardly go back and visit, my mom visits me. I loved my father very much and i know he would of murdered me if he was alive and found out i had a baby at 18 and is living with the father...he was protective

However, he has been waking up for the past week all the sudden 3 to 4 times a night. I breast feed so it's easy to just pull him in bed and fall back a sleep.."BAD HABIT" forming I know! I just love having him there!! Well, tonight is the first night he is sleeping in his crib in his own room. I'm still wide awake and can't sleep! My husband blew up the air mattress and we put it on the floor in my sons room to sleep. of course my husband fell right asleep in there but I'm still wide awake. It just seems so nice and comfy to have my little one in my bedroom. I just know if he doesn't start sleeping in his own room now this bad habit of him being in my bed is gonna be harder on him the longer I wait.I plan on getting pregnant with our 2nd child here in 3 more months.I want our children very close in age growing up. okay so not really a question here but just looking for others that have had MOMMY ANXIETY not having my BABY N MY ROOM!!

Ok she is this girl from work.. And when she first started my friends, who are both girls tried really hard to get us together, but she was already in a relationship. But they asked me if i thought she was cute and i said yeah, so then they went and told her. and ever since she has been Realllllllllllly flirty.
But she recently has broken up with that boyfriend:

she calls me things like honey, sweetie, boyfriend, sexy -- things like that.
She says im really hot.

My oldest will be starting preschool this year. She is so excited about it and talks about school constantly. Every day she asks me "When do I goto school mommy?". I don't tell her but it breaks my heart everytime I hear that. I know my bbay is getting bigger and that she preschool will be good for her.
