I am not an atheist because I beleive something must have brought forth the Universe, which is something that science, nor the big bang can ever explain. It takes just as much faith to beleive that the Universe came from the big bang than from God. There is no explanation of how it came from the big bang. There is absolutely no explanation--where did the Big B come from?
I am not religious (like christian), because I do not beleive in the explanations of Jesus or God, and the rules and dogma that it entails in today's society.
I am however, sure of the existance of something that we do not understand, that brought forth what we now see as reality. I am not a solipsist because I think things have independent identity from my mind. Although the outside world may only be relevent to my mind, it still has an independent identity.
I am a spiritual person. But I do not beleive in some of the explanations and restrictions of the catholic church.
