i'm thinking starbucks and a cute movie, he's thinking a movie then hot chocolate and driving around to see the lights in my neighborhood on christmas eve...which do you think is better for a first date?

I would definitely go with what he chose to do. Starbucks will be crowded. Hot chocolate is more romantic. Some "alone" time seeing christmas lights will give you time to get to know each other more.

I'd say a combination. Going to a movie will help to break the ice, so you'll have something to talk about if conversation fails you. You could always talk about the movie you just saw. Then why not go to Starbucks for hot chocolate? Driving around is fine, but you'll be stuck in a car with him, which means that if you're bored, you can't just cut the date short. If that goes well, then suggest the drive.
Remember, it's a first date, so you don't know how it's going to turn out.

they both seem like a interesting first date, but see the movie first then you can go to starbucks I do believe they have hot chocolate, and enjoy the lights, or go see the lights first the movie second and end the night having a hot chocolate. MERRY CHRISTMAS

It's good to see a movie first, feel each other's vibes. Then hot chocolate, maybe talk about the movie a little bit. Going for a drive and seeing the lights seems interesting. He's got a good idea!

Both ideas sounds quite nice...so I would suggest mixing the ideas all together. I would go out and sip some hot chocolate in a snowy fields just to warm each other, then to a cute movie afterwards in a warm home.

Movie, chocolate, lights. Starbucks is the devil and not a good place to get to know someone. The lights will give you something to talk about.

It is basically the same date, only he wants to look at Christmas lights. Starbucks may be a little too expensive.

Enjoy the holiday. Go see the lights. There will always be movies. Just think of it this way... you already have date #2 figured out. :)
