Like everyone else has said, smoking is bad for you no matter how old you are. Smoking may be worse for you right now because your mind and body are still growing. As for quitting you may wanna chew gum and/or find something to do with your hands when you're nervous, anxious, or just feel like you need a cigarette. Take up a hands on hobby like pottery, it's very relaxing. You can even carry a small container of play dough or silly putty and when you're nervous you can take it out on the putty. That's what I did so I would stop biting and picking my nails (I know it's not the same thing but it might help). Remember these kind of things take time.

Yes, it is bad no matter how old you are or how addicted you are or not.
My dad had a heart attack 2 years ago and had lots of blockages. The doctor told him that 80% of those blockages were caused by the cigarettes. Other than circulation problems, it can cause breathing problems like emphasema. Carbon Monoxide- "because carbon monoxide combines with the hemoglobin in your blood, oxygen cannot absorb into your body, so you slowly asphyxiate.
Lung cancer
Bronchitis-
There are many other health problems that can occur from smoking, and one of them is asthma.
Passive smoking-"So if you are in contact with anyone who smokes you are passively smoking.
When you smoke, your blood vessels shrink and they are not able to bring the oxygen to the parts of your body like they should.
Want to quit: First, don't just focus on the behavior you want to change. Instead, start by changing your thinking. Figure out why you developed the dubious habit to begin with.
Bad habit: Smoking
Ask yourself: Why are you smoking? Is it anxiety? Fear? Because you're bored?
Make a change: If you decide to quit smoking, set a stop date. Seek support from friends, programs. See a doctor for help with the physical addiction to nicotine; avoid situations and friends that trigger the urge; take up exercise, hobbies; expect lapses
Once you've figured out where the troubling habits come from - a task that may require talking to friends or to professionals - you can begin to figure out positive ways to handle those problems, rather than relying on bad habits.
listening to music, calling a friend, saying nice things to yourself.
The experts also recommend starting small and then letting success build when you try to break a bad habit.

Smoking is bad no matter what age you are. You are way to young to be smoking, and since you need to smoke every 30 minutes you are already addicted to smoking, which is bad. What you need to do is get some professional help so you can stop as soon as possible. Because the longer you wait for help, the longer it will take you to try to stop smoking. When you start to get nervous, instead of smoking think of something else to do that will not harm you. I hope you find help and stop smoking.

Yes smoking is bad when you are young. Its bad for you at ANY age. Every smoke you inhale does damage to your lungs. I started smoking when i was 15 and had so much trouble giving up.
Im now 27 and i havent had a cigarette in 6 months. I just went total cold turkey after smoking for 12 years!
If you want something to help you try chewing on normal gum - that way you always have something in your mouth.

Smoking is bad for you no matter what age you are. Just look at the picture of a lung (which normally would be a healthy, plump pink). To stop, take non-smoking mints, nicotine patches, and consult a doctor. Work hard. Make it a new year's resolution. Smoke less - resist urges. You'll be so happy - otherwise you will get lung cancer, mouth cancer, or other complications and die young.

Smoking is bad for you no matter what age you are. Its bad for babies. That is incorrect that you are not addicted. You can become addicted right away, no matter what age you start. You need to get your family to help you stop, and go to the doctor before you start using the patch or gum, just to make sure that it wouldn't cause you any problems. Your doing the right thing by stopping now. Good luck.

use the patch and gum, always have your family's support, always have trust in GOD. Stop cravings by working out or doing something that will benefit you. Remember if there is a will there is a way! Always know that you start to age more with cigarettes and your health becomes poor in an instant, my uncle started smoking the same age as you and he is in poor health i have had family members die from cigarette related illnesses, this is for you and if you really want to quit, you will have the strength

If you think you can't quit because you're addicted, than think of your family. You're not just hurting yourself by shaving off years of your life, but are hurting your family emotionally and phisically. If your family has asked you to quit, chances are that your refusal to quit saddens them with a dissappointment whether either you or your family is willing to admit it to that level. Studies say that 2nd hand smoke is worse than 1st hand. I think it is worse because of the chemicals released after it's lit and sticks to the lungs like taffy. So when you smoke, think of all the rat poison you're letting people breathe. Sorry, but this isn't whether it's bad for you to smoke, this is about whether or not you're willing to slowly kill those around you "to calm your nerves". Even if you don't smoke around your family, you're still near enough to someone to strip away a good hour or two of their life. If you don't think that's anything to worry about, than I would entitle that as selfishness. It's also illegal and illegal isn't cool by any means. The athorities wouldn't come to you, they'd come to your parents. Do you want to take the chance of risking your own parents? Again, it isn't about you, but it is about a choice that you have to make for the people you care about and the people around you. You don't "need" it, you just want it and give in to the little things. Please, if not for yourself, do it for the lives of others. This may sound dramatic and exteme, but it is by no means exagerated. You're so young and have your future to think about. Would you rather have a great family so career someday or be to busy to do anything because you have a ciggarette in one hand and a bucket to hold the blood you're puking up in the other? What you family probably means by "not addicted yet" is (1) their hope that you aren't chemically fried, and (2) that you haven't been at it for a long time so you won't die without them if you worked at quitting as hard as you suck back on them. sorry for the long winded answer, but I can't stress the importance and the impact of your decision. Merry Christmas.

My friend had the same problem. Try the patches and the gum. And if you dont have enough money to afford it , buy some bubbalicious bubble gum and whenever you feel the need to smoke keep eating the bubble gum. My friend said it worked for her. I know it's really hard, but you have to try. Smoking will ruin your life if you dont TRY to stop now. Good luck.
