I am not an atheist because I beleive something must have brought forth the Universe, which is something that science, nor the big bang can ever explain. It takes just as much faith to beleive that the Universe came from the big bang than from God. There is no explanation of how it came from the big bang. There is absolutely no explanation--where did the Big B come from?
I am not religious (like christian), because I do not beleive in the explanations of Jesus or God, and the rules and dogma that it entails in today's society.
I am however, sure of the existance of something that we do not understand, that brought forth what we now see as reality. I am not a solipsist because I think things have independent identity from my mind. Although the outside world may only be relevent to my mind, it still has an independent identity.
I am a spiritual person. But I do not beleive in some of the explanations and restrictions of the catholic church.

just as I do not accept the ridiculous atheistic explanation that the big bang came, and then we just all came here just because.

I am not agnostic because I beleive that there is something that brought forth the Universe. I just don't beleive the christian version of God.
So I am not a deist in the sense that I do not beleive in a deity. I beleive in something that we do not understand that brought forth the Universe.

Hand of J....I don't agree with your universe must have had a desinger interpretation, aka diety.
That makes as much sense of interpreting evolution and the complex life-forms we see today, that since they have an order, there must have been a designer.
I don't know if your one of these fundamentalists. But I don't agree. I think evolution, a natural force or process, can bring forth the complex life-forms we see today.
Just as something could have brought forth what we see now, yet not explicitly a 'designer'...I am pretty sure 'something' did it, whether it was a concious entity or a cosmic force I am not sure.
Well actually I am, cuz I know the answer, but I was supposing this hypothetical situation...because I havce seen people who have this stance and they usually have an identity problem.
So I don't think I would associate with deists, because it explicitly is tied to a concious entity which I do not agree.

basically, you can cateogrize me when you categorize the following:
a person that beleives that something must have caused the current situation (of creation till now)....It is not explicitly a diety, nor a cosmic force...
You are unsure what did it, but you are sure something was behind the process.
you are not an atheist because you know that creation is something the big bang nor evolution, science will ever be able to explain....but you are not a religious person because of all the dogma, rules, etc.
As far as God, you do not know what definition he takes (it can be a process like evolution, or an entity), but whatever it is, its beyond our current understaning or capacity.
Yea...that pretty much sums it up....and I am pretty sure its not agnosticism, christianity, atheism, or deism.
So have fun suckas.

Like some famous (rather INFAMOUS to some) politicians once said: "...religion is the opium to the people". People find religion to give themselves a "sense of being", that perhaps something out there (God, Big Bang, etc) made all of us. For some people, it brings them comfort to dedicate their lives to a higher power or "being" as you would call it. But looking at MOST religions, they ALL report to a higher power, most of which is either supernatural and cannot be explained, but the basic teaching is to make you lead a better life--do not lie, cheat, steal, kill, etc. However, though the ages, mankind has manipulated, including using religion for personal gain to get control of people. (Which is why Karl Marx's manifesto prohibits religion, for it clouds the mind of people and can overthrow a government). I think ALL religions are basically good, and worship some kind of "God", who is the "creator" or that "force" that is unexplained. I would live and enjoy life, and base it on the good teachings of mankind. Whether you're Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Shinto... or any other religion: nelieve in YOURSELF and be good to others, be a leader, and society will be a better place. And as far as "where we all came from"... if there was a REAL answer, then religion would have never existed.
Like they always say, the TWO things to NEVER get into: 1) Politics, and 2) Religion. I will be looking forward to seeing some of the replies to this question... because I don't think ANYBODY will have a real "answer". There are always 2 sides to everything (in StarWars, it's the Force and the Dark Side of the Force). Which is better? Well that will be determined by each individual and what he/she believes in. Like politics, if you are on the liberal side, you are a Democrat...if you are a conservative, you are a Republican. Which is better? Well that is why we have "politics"... but BOTH are needed to "bring balance to the force". Where there is a Yin (black), there HAS to be a Yang (white)...and within each, is a small portion of the other side... thus making the Yin-Yang--good within evil, and evil within good.
I know this is not the "answer" you are looking for, but this will lead you in the right direction to find what religion fits YOU best.

If something was created, then it had a beginning, design, and designer. IE: deity. You are a deist and that worldview makes absolutely no sense. It is very close to a theist but it believes that whatever higher power creates us is either indifferent to humanity or completely neutral.
It had a go of it in its time but people really gave up on it because it was basically trying to straddle the fence between atheism and theism.

You sound more like a person who seeks the truth. When you look at our planet it's hard to belive that it's here by chance. Many peolpe are turned off by the Catholic teachings and have sought to find answers elsewere.however if you ask the find the truth of our existance and origins, you have to be willing to be taught.Seek the TRUTH and you will have your answer.

I'd say agnostic, but it could be different based on your interpretation of this un-understood force.
Is this force part of nature? Beyond it? Is it humanized, or is it energy? Is it caring, or uncaring? Etc.

Jesus would have said you are a Satanist because you follow the liar. If you do not follow God then what spirit do you suppose you follow?
