If we are in the front room is it cheaper to have the fire on with no heating or the heating on throughout the house? We live in a small 2bed terrace with tiny radiators. The fire is more effective for us if downstairs but is it more economical?

A married couple having their first baby was invited to make use of a new Machine that would transfer a portion of the mother's labour pains to the Baby's biological father.

Both were happy to try it.

The pain transfer was set to 10 percent but the husband felt nothing so the doctor increased it to 20 percent. The father said he still felt fine and his blood pressure was normal. He invited the doctor to kick it up to 50 percent. Still no reaction. The doctor was amazed and slowly transferred all the pain until the wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain.

She, the husband and the doctor were ecstatic. When they got home, the gardener was lying dead at the gate.

I heard this, but am unsure. If you're going to come on here and tell me how I should enlist to serve my coutry, for pride, etc. then please just save your time. I am enlisting because I have wanted to since I was very, very young. I'm doing it because it is something I can be proud of, and I want to give back to my country. However, in the real world (where I reside) there are in fact bills to pay, and that is why I'm wondering. Thank you.

Its not that she doesn't want them but (at a later date) she's really apprehensive about the responsibilites of having children since we're both full time working doctors and she loves her career. We both spend at least 12 hours away from home and she's worried that children will make life harder for her to handle. She's terrified of labour too, having handled so many labouring women herself and seen the things that can go wrong. How do I reassure her?

By BRIAN ROSS, DAVID SCOTT and MADDY SAUER

Oct. 14, 2004 -- Following inquiries by ABC News, the Pentagon has dropped plans to force a severely wounded U.S. soldier to repay his enlistment bonus after injuries had forced him out of the service.

Army Spc. Tyson Johnson III of Mobile, Ala., who lost a kidney in a mortar attack last year in Iraq, was still recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center when he received notice from the Pentagon's own collection agency that he owed more than $2,700 because he could not fulfill his full 36-month tour of duty.

Johnson said the Pentagon listed the bonus on his credit report as an unpaid government loan, making it impossible for him to rent an apartment or obtain credit cards.

"Oh man, I felt betrayed," Johnson said. "I felt, like, oh, my heart dropped."

Pentagon officials said they were unaware of the case until it was brought to their
