I began an oil painting the other day and have now found out that I am moving 18 hours away in less than two weeks. Could someone please give me some suggestions on how I can safely transport this (it isn't huge, just 16x20.) I planned to hand carry it but after an 18 hour ride in the car with my Rottwieler Xander, I'm worried my painting will end up a smeared, hairy mess.

My boyfriend is Jewish and I am Christian (non-practicing Catholic to be precise). I know that Hanukkah is not as important to Jews as Christmas is to Christians, but I'm wondering if I should buy him a Hanukkah present? If so, on which night of Hanukkah should I give him a present? Does it really matter or is it more of the thought that counts? I'm not expecting a Christmas present (although if he wants to give me a gift, I would appreciate it), and I'm not wanting to give him a gift simply in the hopes that he will reciprocate. Any advice?
