I'm going to disney world next week. what is all the MUST SEE things in all 4 worlds of disney and around orlando??

Okay, here's a list and slight description of all the must-sees at all of Walt Disney World...

* Disney's Animal Kingdom Park *

Discovery Island Trails - See Galapagos tortoises, cotton-top tamarin monkeys and other animals.

Maharajah Jungle Trek - See exotic animals like Komodo dragons, tapirs, giant bats, and tigers.

Pangani Forest Exploration Trail - See gorillas, hippos, and tropical fish and birds.

DINOSAUR - One of the best thrill rides at Walt Disney World. It's dark, fast, and the Audi-Animatronic dinosaurs are very well done.

Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain - One of the newest attractions at Walt Disney World. The Imagineers of the park did an amazing job creating this roller coaster. And the Audio-Animatronic Yeti is so cool!

It's Tough to be a Bug! - A great 3-D show with the characters of "A Bug's Life" in the Tree of Life.

Kali River Rapids - A great water ride. You're guaranteed to get soaked, so it's the perfect ride on a hot day.

Kilimanjaro Safaris - Take an amazing tour of Disney's version of the African savannah. See alligators, hippos, flamingos, pelicans, ostriches, wild boars, lions, rhinoceroses, giraffes, elephants, zebras, and other wonderful, exotic animals.

Primeval Whirl - This roller coaster isn't very big so it looks like it won't be very intense, but surprisingly it is. It spins as it goes along the track, and the track swerves and weaves so the vehicle jerks around a bit. It's so much fun!

Finding Nemo - The Musical - Walt Disney World's latest show which has replaced Tarzan Rocks. I've read great reviews of this show.

Festival of the Lion King - A popular show with characters of the "Lion King." People in the audience are invited to join in dancing with the characters and stuff.

Flights of Wonder - This bird show is great. There's a few exotic birds and not-so exotic birds, and there's even endangered birds like the American Bald Eagle.

Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade - A really fun parade with everyone’s favorite characters. And people have these huge stick puppets, it's pretty cool.

Rainforest Cafe - If you're looking for a place to eat at, at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park try this restaurant at the entrance of the park. The restaurant is fun and lively, and the food is fresh and delicious. Try one of the freshly made pizzas and the volcano sundae for dessert.

* Disney - MGM Studios *

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith - One of the most fun thrill rides at Walt Disney World and also one of my favorites. It's indoors and in the dark with blaring Aerosmith music. There's no large hills or drops, but there's a loop or two and the take-off with is so fast and sudden it will basically give you the same affect as a drop. I love it!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - Scary! It's the anticipation... walking through the creepy Hollywood Hotel, getting into the elevator, going up... and then you finally, suddenly drop. Sometimes I'm too scared to go on this, but other times I pretend I'm brave enough, but then by the time I decide I want to turn around it's pretty much too late. It's definitely worth it to ride it at least once, though. It's a fantastic experience!

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular – A great show with cool stunts, but it’s no where near as awesome as...

Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show – An incredible stunt show brought in from Disneyland Paris. See Herbie the Love Bug and the specially designed cars from France. The performance is so awesome. Get your cameras ready! You’ll be blown away.

Disney-MGM Studios Backlot Tour – A fun 35-minute tour of scenes and props from TV shows and movies while riding a tram.

Muppet Vision 3-D – A great 3-D show also with Audio-Animatronic characters in the theater.

The Great Movie Ride – A really fun ride through famous scenes of classic movies. The vehicles are huge and you get a tour guide. There’s a show within the ride and the tour guides get involved. It’s really cool.

Fantasmic! – A spectacular nighttime show with scenes and characters from movies like the Lion King and Pocahontas. Sorcerer Mickey battles with all the Disney Villains. Scenes from classic Disney movies are projected onto water fountains and there’s great pyrotechnics. The show is very famous and popular.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano – My favorite restaurant at Disney-MGM Studios. The food is fabulous. Freshly baked flatbreads, calamari, and delicious honey-hazelnut cheesecake. Yum! And the restaurant is very beautiful with all the brick, the wood floord, the little white Christmas lights, and the open kitchen.

* EPCOT *

Mission: SPACE – A very popular, very intense thrill ride. A milder version has been created because many have ended up sick or unconscious afterwards. I like this ride and go on the original, more intense version. The difference is that the first one spins to simulate being in space (you’re not aware it’s spinning, but you sure can feel the difference if you ride them both.)

Test Track – One of my most favorite rides. The car jerks, swerves, and speeds. You go through all these different environmental settings to see the effect on the car and driving. The best part is the straightaway when the car goes outside.

Soarin’ – One of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World. Be prepared to wait in line for a while, but believe me, it’ll be very worth it. You get to fly over California- the Golden Gate Bridge, the coast, the orange groves, the mountains, and even Disneyland. It’s fantastic!

The Seas with Nemo and Friends – The newest attraction at EPCOT. I’ve heard great reviews about the ride and the Company predicts it will be very popular. From what I’ve read, characters from “Fining Nemo” are projected onto the glass of the aquarium tank, making it appear that they’re swimming in the water with the real fish.

Spaceship Earth – The ride inside the Geosphere, EPCOT’s famous icon. This is a 16-minute slow-moving ride that brings you through the development of communication through time. There are many, very cool Audio-Animatronics. This is another one of my favorite rides. It’s the first ride you’ll come to at the entrance of the Park.

“Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!” – A fun 3-D show with the family from “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” and “Honey, I Blew Up the Baby.” Watch out for the mice! Oh, and the snake! This ride has two mild hills, one you go down backwards.

Maelstrom – Located at the Norway Pavilion. An exciting boat ride through Norway. You can see a Viking ship, a couple polar bears, and even a troll!

El Rio del Tiempo – Located at the Mexico Pavilion. Similar to the Maelstrom attraction. A nice, relaxing boat ride inside the temple. You’ll go past a volcano and the San Angel Inn Restaurant. This ride will cool you down, as it’s indoors and you go through some clouds of mist.

Ellen’s Energy Adventure – I like this ride a lot. You get into these huge vehicles and follow Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy throughout the attraction. Ellen’s so funny, and the vehicles are so huge!

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth – This is the most amazing fireworks/pyrotechnics/lasers show I’ve ever seen. It’s incredible, and the Earth Globe is awesome.

The Living Seas – This aquarium is one of the largest man-made ocean environments. It’s so cool. You can see sharks, dolphins, other fish, sting rays, and sea turtles. I took the Seas Aqua Tour there and got to go swimming in the tank with SCUBA gear. It was so awesome being that close to those sharks and things!

Coral Reef Restaurant – This is a beautiful restaurant located near the living seas. The aquarium acts as a wall, so you can have a view of the aquarium from any table. The seafood is very fresh. I had the best calamari, a great N.Y. strip steak, and for dessert, the Chocolate Wave is to die for.

Le Cellier Steakhouse – This restaurant, located at the Canada Pavilion, serves excellent filet mignons. The maple creme brulee is delicious, but the breadsticks (especially the pretzel one) they serve before you order are amazing!

* Magic Kingdom *

Space Mountain – A fun but mild roller coaster indoors and in the dark.

Splash Mountain – A boat ride ending with a drop down a 45 degree hill.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – A really fun, competitive attraction. The vehicles have laser guns and you and your opponent try to shoot as many targets as you can for points.

Mickey’s Philhar Magic – My favorite 3-D show on property. Donald travels through scenes from many classic Disney animated films to try and get Mickey’s Sorcerer hat.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – A great, mild roller coaster, and one of my favorites.

Mad Tea Party – I love this ride because you can control just how fast you spin.

Pirates of the Caribbean – Newly refurbished, and now with Johnny Depp’s character, Jack Sparrow, from the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

The Haunted Mansion – This ride is a classic, and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy. The ghosts look just as you’d imagine a ghost to appear. You could ride it a hundred times and still find things you didn’t notice before.

The Carousel of Progress – See an Audi-Animatronic family experience technological changes throughout the twentieth century. It takes place in a revolving theater. This is definitely one of my favorite attractions at Walt Disney World!

“SpectroMagic” Parade – This parade is so awesome, it’s all lit up! There are approximately 100 miles of fiber optics cables and threads and approximately 250,000 fiber optic points of light in the parade.

Wishes Nighttime Spectacular – I love this fireworks show! Right in the view of Cinderella Castle. It’s so beautiful! See the classic shooting star over the castle and even see Tinkerbell fly across the park! The music that goes along with it is great, too.

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant – My boyfriend and I love this restaurant. It’s very cute and themed to “Lady and the Tramp.” There’s a fountain with a statue of the two, as well as pictures of scenes from the movie all over the walls. The food is delicious, too! The spinach and artichoke dip, the chicken Florentine, and tiramisu are all recommended.

* Blizzard Beach *

Any of the water slides at this park are great, especially if you like water. Summit Plummet is the icon of the water park – the world’s tallest and fastest free-fall body slide. There’s a great lazy river that goes around the entire park and Melt-Away Bay, a one-acre pool. Just a note, though: On really sunny days this water park can be quite unbeaerable. Everything is painted white to represent snow or ice and the bright sun just reflects off of everything, right into your eyes. I prefer Typhoon Lagoon.

* Typhoon Lagoon *

All the water slides here are great. The newest attraction, the Crush ‘n’ Gusher is so awesome. It’s a water slide coaster. You’re in a raft and you go up and down hills and stuff. There’s three different slides and they’re all so fun! There’s a lazy river that goes around entire park and the park’s also home to one of the largest inland wave pools in the world. The waves are massive! It’s a blast to let them toss you around, but be careful if you’re not a great swimmer, like me. In the morning before the park opens you can take surfing lessons.

* Downtown Disney *

AMC Pleasure Island 24 Theatres Complex – This theater complex has 24 different theaters, so they’re always showing a great selection of movies. The seating arrangement in the theater is more leveled and much better than regular theaters, and the seats are big and very comfortable. My boyfriend and I always spend one day at Downtown Disney and usually go see a movie after lunch.

DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park – Five floors of virtual reality and 3-D games. It’s a lot of fun when it’s not swarming with parties of little kids.

Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba – The most incredible, breathtaking show you’ll ever see. I so highly recommend this. We see it every time we go and it just gets more exciting. The performances are mesmerizing and the live music is so awesome.

Pleasure Island – Home to seven different clubs plus a couple outdoor stages for live performances. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by someone 21 or older.

Bongos Cuban Cafe – Whenever we come to Downtown Disney we eat at Bongos Cuban Cafe. They have the best Cuban sandwiches, and the flan is good, too. (I crave those Cuban sandwiches all the time, though.) The restaurant is very pretty and sometimes there’s live music being played.

That’s my list of Walt Disney must-sees. There’s a lot, but it’s not even half of what Walt Disney World has to offer.

If you have an extra day there’s a lot of recreation. You can go to Sammy Duvall’s and go boating, jet skiing, water skiing, wakeboarding, or parasailing. There’s five championship golf courses, plus Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens for miniature golf. My boyfriend and I took a guided fishing excursion on our last vacation to Walt Disney World and that was a lot of fun. At Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground you can go horseback riding. You can go on a fireworks cruise to see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at EPCOT or Wishes Nighttime Spectacular at the Magic Kingdom. We tried that, too, it was great. We had a much better view because we were alone on a boat, not standing in a huge crowd. Near the Magic Kingdom there’s the Richard Petty Driving Course where you can driver a real race car.

At MGM Studios make sure you get a chance to see the Fantasmic show. Its breathtaking. Keep in mind this is a popular show and you will need to arrive early to get a seat. I know we waited about 2 hours but it was well worth the wait! At EPCOT be sure to ride Test Track. Again this is a popular ride but I think its worth the wait. Splash Mountain is a great ride in the Magic Kingdom. And in Animal Kingdom i recommend you ride Kilamajoros Safari (sp).

If you get a chance check out a character breakfast.

If you love Pineapple like I do, don't miss the Dole Whip stand in Adventure Land. It is addicting! A few of my other favorite things to do are ride splash mountian during the parades because there is no wait and alot of times they will let you ride it over again if no one else is in line. It amazing during the night parade you can see the whole world lit up as you come out of the tunnel for the drop!

i think the must see thing is the fireworks in every park after dark. there is also a light parade in the magic kingdom. there are lots of hidden things going on in the parks. you can ask someone at the parks to help you find them out. if you have any other questions about disney, just e-mail me. i'm a disney expert. if you can't get ahold of me just leave your e-mail address on one of my questions and i will take care of it.

It's been a while, but if the bugs life theater is still going, that's a hoot. Also, the Buzz Lightyear ride in Magic K is a fun one (with less long lines than most).

oh man this is a tough one.....I love everything about all of the parks.
You should get a guide book (birnbaums puts out an excellent one, I woun't go without getting one) and then plan what is most important to you!
The book will give you details about each ride.
